Disciplinary Demotion. An appointing authority may demote an employee, for disciplinary reasons, to any position with a lower salary range, provided the employee meets minimum qualifications for the lower-level position. Disciplinary Demotion. Should an employee be demoted into a lower Grade due to discipline as defined in Article 2, they will be placed in the same Step of the lower Grade as the Step they were at before the demotion.
