Unsupervised areas include the bathrooms, hallways, library, cafeteria, or any other area deemed insecure. Any device left in these areas is in danger of being stolen or tampered with by unauthorized individuals.

Device Security. Each of the devices has a security program installed on it. We have tried to strike a balance between usability of the equipment, and appropriate security to prevent the units from being damaged or used to cause damage to the Xxxxx School District system. Three primary forms of security exist: Device Security - Security is in place on the devices to prevent certain activities. These include downloading or installing software in the devices, removing software, changing system settings, etc.
Device Security. All network devices are configured with only the ports and services needed. Ports not requested or used by the customer are not a member of any configuration. Management access to switches is only possible from an internal management network. Management accounts are radius based and frequent password changes are mandatory. All configurations are stored on a backup server in case a network device fails. All configuration changes are systematically recorded and emailed to an internal review group. Internal routing protocols are authenticated using encrypted handshakes. Unauthorized information cannot be injected into the network.
