Designated Holiday. A. For employees normally working a Monday through Friday schedule: If a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be designated as the holiday. If a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be the holiday.
Designated Holiday. Since employees normally work a Monday-through-Friday schedule: If a legal holiday falls on Saturday, the proceeding Friday shall be designated as the holiday. If a legal holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be the holiday. If an employee is not working a Monday-through-Friday schedule and a holiday falls on a regularly-scheduled day off, either the last preceding or the next following workday will be the holiday. Supervisors shall designate which day will be the holiday on an individual basis. If a holiday is on a scheduled workday and the employee becomes ill or injured, no holiday credit shall be granted, nor sick leave deducted.

Designated Holiday. The Employer shall recognize holidays for covered employees to be the same holidays granted by the Illinois Department of Corrections. These holidays shall be: New Year’s Day, Labor Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day, Columbus Day, Xxxxxxx’s Birthday, Veterans’ Day, Washington’s Birthday, Thanksgiving Day, Memorial Day, Friday Following Thanksgiving Day, Independence Day, Christmas Day, General Election Day (on which members of the House of Representatives are elected), and any additional days recognized as holidays or non-working days by the Illinois Department of Corrections. Holidays shall be observed on the same days as the Illinois Department of Corrections. If the actual holiday falls on a weekend and the state recognizes both, the actual holiday and the observed holiday, both days will also be recognized as holidays by the Employer for employees who work one of those days. If an employee works both the actual and observed holiday, only the actual holiday will be considered a holiday.
Designated Holiday. Employee Directed Each year, two (2) designated holidays will be assigned to a date chosen by the employee with the approval of the manager. These designated holidays will not be accumulative from year to year or paid out if not utilized in the calendar year. The employee directed holidays must be taken as a full day in accordance with the employee’s normal hours of work.
