Common use of Deputy Chief Clause in Contracts

Deputy Chief. Any employee and/or Council representative, who has a grievance, shall submit the grievance in writing to his Deputy Chief, specifically indicating that it is a grievance under the terms of the Agreement. The grievance shall contain a complete statement of the facts and circumstances, the provision(s) of the Agreement alleged to have been violated, and the relief sought. The grievance shall be filed on the form attached to this Agreement and labeled Appendix I. All grievances shall be filed within twenty (20) calendar days from the date of the occurrence which gave rise to the alleged violation, or twenty (20) days from the date from which the grievant should have become aware of the circumstances which led to the alleged violation. The Deputy Chief shall investigate the grievance and, if he deems necessary shall offer to discuss the grievance with the grievant and/or the Council at a mutually agreed upon time.
