Department Services. Binding The school provides a free spiral binding service for all completed theses. The service covers the amount of copies required for your hand in (3 for PhD, 1 for MSc) only and you must give the School Office 24 hours’ notice to have this work completed. There is no guarantee that this work can be completed within an unreasonable timeframe. The school does not provide a professional binding service. Fuji Xerox on the ground floor of Cotton Building is available for students to book in binding and printing jobs. Alternatively, there are other binding providers available around the city that you can locate online. Please note that this cost is met by the student and not reimbursed by the university. Printing & Scanning All printing and scanning must be work related to your SMS employment work, research, project or matters approved by your supervisor/s. Before sending a request to the School Office to have this work completed. Can you please ensure you have: • instructions of what you require so that the work is completed correctly: o Number of copies o Double or single sided o Staples: number and placement • allow at least 24 hours’ notice to have work completed by; and • checked the copyright law1 before requesting printing and scanning work from the School Office. Particularly material from books, journals etc. There is no printing limit to print to black and white SMS printers for graduate students. Black and white printers are available in CO359 and outside graduate labs CO437 & CO540. Colour printers are available in CO359 and outside CO437. There is limited access to the printing room in CO359, please contact the office to access these printers. Black and white printing incurs a cost of 10c per side printed. Colour incurs a cost of 20c per side printed.
