Common use of Dental Plans Clause in Contracts

Dental Plans. The dental plans offered and benefits provided by those plans shall be determined by the Personnel Department, in accordance with Los Angeles Administrative Code Section 4.303, upon the recommendation of the City's Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee. Management will expend for full-time employees in the classifications listed in this Unit, who are members of LACERS, the monthly sum necessary to cover the cost of employee only coverage under the City-sponsored Dental Plan Program. Coverage for dependents of eligible employees may be obtained in a City-sponsored plan at the employee's expense, provided that such sufficient enrollment is maintained to continue to make such coverage available. For each half-time employee, as defined by Section 4.110 of the LAAC, who becomes a member of LACERS and for each employee who transfers from full-time to half-time status following July 1, 1990, Management will expend an amount equivalent to one-half of the cost of the employee-only coverage of the most expensive plan under the City-sponsored Dental Program. Half-time employees who, prior to July 1, 1990, were receiving the full employee-only subsidy shall continue to receive the full employee-only subsidy. During the term of this MOU, the Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee will review all rate changes and their impact on the Dental Plans.
