Day Defined. The full time teaching day shall not exceed a seven and one-half hour day of which no more than six hours can be instructional. Additionally, the teacher’s day shall not start before 7:30 a.m. nor extend beyond 4:00 p.m. with the exception of no more than ten meetings of any kind per semester with no more than four in a given month. I.E.P.C. meetings and Parent Teacher Conferences are excluded from these limits. • Exception to the start and end time will be made in the case of classes starting one hour before and extending one hour beyond the normal day. Volunteers to fill such positions shall be solicited first before assigning any non volunteers. No teacher will be required to teach in such assignments for more than two consecutive years and no more than two out of every four years except when they request in writing. • Teaching assignments for any classes that begin later than one hour after school would be filled with volunteers from the teaching staff. • Staff and Professional Development (PD) meeting times will be developed through the building School Improvement teams and approved by majority vote in each building. • Teachers who teach either of these early morning or late afternoon classes shall have their contractual time shortened in the opposite part of the day by the same amount of time that they extended beyond normal contractual times.
Day Defined. For the purpose of the Agreement a day shall be defined as from MIDNIGHT to MIDNIGHT, and any work performed in a ''Day" will be considered as having been performed on the calendar day on which the majority of assigned hours occurred. Where no majority has been established a "Day" shall be that on which the work commenced.

Day Defined. For the purpose of calculating vacation accumulation, one (1) day is the equivalent of eight (8) hours. However for depleting the accumulated leave, the Employee will be debited for the actual hours used to facilitate the vacation leave.

FOR THE COMPANY FOR THE UNION Xxxx Xxxxx Xxx Xxxxx Human Resources Plant Chairman Local 195 ESTABLISHING OF A NEW CLASSIFICATION When a new job is introduced into the plant which cannot be properly placed in an existing classification or when the job content of an existing job is so changed that it cannot be properly covered by an existing classification, the Company will set up a new classification and a rate of pay covering the job in question. A copy of the rate and the classification name will be given to the Plant Committee. In establishing the rate of pay for a new classification the Company shall do so by comparing such classification with other comparable classifications in the bargaining unit. If a dispute arises regarding a new classification or the rate of pay established, the Union may request to negotiate the disputed rate and/or classification. If the Committee and Management are unable to agree on a classification and rate for the job the disputed rate and/or classification may be treated as a grievance. Dated this 24th day of Sept., 2000.
