Crisis Leave. 7.12.1 Council recognises the requirement for flexibility in the management and taking of unplanned leave. An employee may access up to three (3) days paid crisis leave per calendar year which is provided in addition to other leave entitlements. This leave is provided to attend to:
Crisis Leave. Teachers may use up to three (3) days of sick leave to cover absences due to a personal crisis with the approval of the superintendent or director of administrative services. Crisis is interpreted as a rare, short term, unusual event or emergency such as a natural disaster or fire.
Crisis Leave. Teachers may apply for up to three (3) days of crisis leave upon recommendation of the District or Building Crisis Team and a Building Administrator. The Superintendent/designee shall grant or deny the leave. If the leave is granted, it shall be reported as District Assignment Days.
Crisis Leave. Subd. 1. Teachers may use up to five (5) days of sick leave to cover absences due to death or crisis in the immediate family. At the end of this five (5) days, the Superintendent may, at the request of the teacher, consider whether additional time may be allowed under this provision. Crisis is interpreted as a rare, short term, unusual event or emergency such as but not limited to, serious injury or illness, natural disaster or fire. Immediate family shall include the following: husband, wife, children, step-children and any relative of whom the employee is the legal custodial guardian, sisters, brothers, parents, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents and all significant other individuals mutually agreed upon by the administration.

Crisis Leave. The Board may grant an extension of the ten (10) days personal leave to an employee who has used all of his/her leave and experiences extraordinary circumstances requiring additional leave. Crisis Leave. An employee shall be granted a leave of absence without loss of pay, but with deduction from sick leave credits, in crisis situations, which include, but are not limited to the hospitalization of family members, fire, or violence within the home. Crisis shall be interpreted to mean a time of grave danger. Personal Leave Day Subject to the approval of the Associate Director, Corporate Services or designate, an employee may be granted up to two (2) days of personal leave per Agreement year with pay and with deduction from sick leave credits. The Board may grant an employee a leave of absence without pay for a maximum of one (1) year. Subject to continuing eligibility an employee on leave may continue to participatein Employee Benefits pursuant to Article provided that the employee shall pay of the premium costs.
Crisis Leave cognises the requirement for flexibility in the management and nces as defined and will not be allowed in circumstances that are normally and reasonably covered by ing rise to the application for such leave and demonstrate why other forms of leave are not available or suitable.
Crisis Leave. Certified employees may be granted up to two (2) working days “Crisis Leave”. Such leave may be used for a situation that may be termed a “Family or Personal Crisis”. Leave will be granted on a case by case basis and should pertain to situations not covered by other leave provisions. An explanation of purpose shall be made in writing to the principals’ office. If the leave application is denied, the professional employee may appeal the decision to the District Wide Crisis Committee in accordance with the current Board Policy 5.301 (Appendix D). The form Appendix E shall become part of the contract and shall not be changed except by mutual agreement between the Board and the Association.
