Credit for Prior Teaching Experience. A teacher who has retired and who is collecting retirement benefits from the State Teachers Retirement System (Ohio) or a comparable teacher’s retirement system in another State who is hired/rehired by the BOARD after such retirement shall receive credit for prior teaching experience to a maximum of ten (10) years of such teaching experience without regard to the length of time such retired teacher has been retired, notwithstanding any provision of this Agreement or any provision of the Ohio Revised code which may indicate or require the granting of a different amount of teaching experience credit.

Credit for Prior Teaching Experience. New teachers may be given full increment credit for previous outside teaching experiences. Teachers shall be given credit for each full teaching year in Rhode Island public schools. A full teaching year shall be no less than one hundred thirty-five (135) paid days in a school year.
Credit for Prior Teaching Experience. 1. Unit members hired on or before 9/ l/89: Full credit will be given for all service either in or out of the District. For example, a teacher with previous credit of ten (10) years and District credit of sixteen (16) years was placed on step 25, a teacher with twenty-one (21) years in the District was placed on step 21. Unit members hired on or after7/1/90 but before 7/1/94 were given 75% of previous service plus full District service. For example, a unit member with eight (8) years of previous service and who completed five (5) years of District service was placed on step 11. (8x75%=6+5=11) Unit members hired on or after 7/1/94 and before 6/30/01 were given two (2) years credit for each three (3) years of prior service plus full District service. For example, a unit member with seven (7) years of prior service and completed five (5) years of District service was placed on step 10. (7/3x2=4.66=5+5= 10) Effective 7/1/01, all new hires will receive two (2) years credit for each three (3) years of experience, rounded to the nearest whole number. For example, a brand-new hire with no experience starts on step 1, after one year, step 2 and so on. Former district teachers who are re-hired within two years of their last day of employment with the district shall be placed on a step of the salary schedule that they were on in their last year of district employment and then may be advanced one step of the salary schedule if otherwise qualified. Such salary step placement shall be consistent with the conversion feature in the preceding paragraphs of this section B1.

  • Credit for Prior Experience Credit shall be given new employees in initial step placement of the wage scale set forth in Appendix A for prior experience directly related to the same classification. Credit for prior experience which is somewhat related to the position for which the applicant applies will be granted on a basis of one (1) year credit for two (2) years’ experience.

  • Teaching Loads The range of teaching loads, number of preparations and number of pupil contacts required should provide for effective instruction and meaningful teacher-student interaction. DPS and the Association agree to work together to seek increased state funding to decrease class size. The principal shall report to the CSC, after the roster verification process, the number of students in each class and this will be published in the CSC minutes on the school’s website. For the purposes of this section, a “class” shall be defined as any general education, including electives and model one classes. Upon request, after the roster verification process, the District shall provide the Association with the student information management system data regarding class enrollment.

  • General Experience The Applicant shall meet the following minimum criteria: -

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term. The following equivalencies will be used in determining teaching assignments:

  • Criteria for Promotion 24.04.01 For evaluating each application for promotion, the following general criteria shall apply:

  • Using Student feedback in Educator Evaluation ESE will provide model contract language, direction and guidance on using student feedback in Educator Evaluation by June 30, 2013.   • Eligibility for Promotion An employee in the classification of Police Officer must have a minimum of five (5) years service in the classification of Lincoln Police Officer as of March 1 of the testing year to be eligible to test for the classification of Sergeant.
