Court Appearances District Related. 1. In the event an employee is subpoenaed or summoned to appear in court on a work related matter, a special paid leave of absence not to be deducted from the employee’s accumulated leave may be granted for that purpose, provided he/she presents the court order, subpoena or summons, if one is issued, to Human Resources as far in advance as possible. He/she shall be at work at all reasonable hours when not required at court.

Failure to seek guidance from Human Resources may lead to disciplinary action if violation of laws and regulations occur. Pay received from the court for witness fees in excess of five (5) days of service shall be reimbursed to the Board with the exception of mileage.
