Common use of Court Appearance Leave Clause in Contracts

Court Appearance Leave. Leave shall be granted for appearances before a court, legislative committee, or other judicial or quasi-judicial body in response to a subpoena or other direction of proper authority for job-related purposes other than those instituted by the nurse or the exclusive representative. Leave shall also be granted for attendance in court in connection with a nurse's official duty, which shall include any necessary travel time. Such nurse shall be paid the nurse's regular rate of pay but shall remit to her/his Appointing Authority the amount received, exclusive of expenses, for serving as a witness.
