Counseling and Training. Counseling is a form of supervisor and employee communication which is often appropriate and is done outside and prior to the disciplinary process. The purpose of counseling is to discuss with the employee the proper procedures to be followed in a given situation. It is primarily instructional and is not, nor should it be confused as a form of discipline. Counseling is also a method of notifying an employee of good or exceptional work. Training or retraining may be used as a means of improving employee productivity and effectiveness through positive and constructive methods. In the event it is determined that personalized training is needed to correct a specific deficiency, such training may be required, and will be provided, by the Department.

Training or retraining may be used as a means of improving employee productivity and effectiveness through positive and constructive methods. In the event it is determined that personalized training is needed to correct a specific deficiency, such training may be required, and will be provided by the City during work hours at City expense. Written prior notice will be given to the Association whenever such training is required. Demotion: Movement of an employee from one classification to a different classification, which is on a lower salary grade than the original classification, typically resulting in a loss of pay.
Counseling and Training. The Division may use counseling and/or training to assist a member to improve his or her work performance and to address work deficiencies. Counseling and/or training is not disciplinary in nature but may precede the issuance of progressive corrective action. Any documentation regarding the issuance of counseling shall be maintained in the member’s personnel file until completion of the Member’s next annual evaluation, not to exceed twelve (12) months from the issuance of counseling. Such documentation shall be subject to removal thereafter upon a member’s request.

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.

The state will make a reasonable effort to continue existing training programs in law enforcement techniques and to develop new programs in performance review techniques, supervisory skills, and managerial techniques.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Driver Training A. All drivers are to be provided with appropriate training and refresher courses each year in the following areas as a minimum: * Proper use of equipment including communications equipment; * Defensive driving; * Emergency and accident procedures; * Identifying unusual passenger behavior; * Student harassment and bullying; * Conducting evacuation drills; * Sensitivity training in working with disabled persons; * Human relation skills in working with parents, school staff, etc; * General vehicle maintenance and pre-trip inspections; and * Map reading and city street coordinates. The Department of Business and Transportation Services may review Contractors’ bus driver training program, upon request.

  • Job Training The Employer and the Union shall establish a Joint Committee on Training and Skill Upgrading for the following purposes:

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

  • First Aid Training In the interests of the occupational safety and health of employees, the Employer will undertake an in-service program of first aid training aimed at providing a first aid officer for each department.
