Convocation Leave. 31.1 Each teacher receiving a degree will be granted a one (1) day leave of absence, with pay, to attend his/her convocation day.
Convocation Leave. 14.5.1.A teacher is entitled to leave of absence with pay and applicable benefits for one (1) day of each of the teacher's own convocation in which the teacher is participating as a degree or diploma recipient provided the convocation falls during the school year and the convocation falls on a school day.

Convocation Leave. A teacher who is entitled to attend a convocation of a University to receive a degree shall be granted a leave to a maximum of two teaching days and will suffer no loss of salary or accrued sick leave by reason of such absence.
Convocation Leave. Leave of up to two operational days per school year without loss of salary shall be approved for an employee to attend their convocation or the convocation of an immediate family member. This leave shall be limited to one day for convocations held in the Greater Edmonton-Calgary corridor. In exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the Superintendent, this leave may be extended to the second day.
Convocation Leave. One day of leave for employees to attend their post secondary graduation or be present when a member of their immediate family graduates from a post-secondary institution. Application for leave of absence shall be made in writing and be subject to the approval of the Manager/Administrator. In this case, “immediate family” means the employee’s spouse, child or parent.
Convocation Leave. Leave shall be granted for one (1) day to a member to attend convocation for themselves, their spouse or children.
Convocation Leave. 14.2.1 One (1) day to attend convocation of the university at which the teacher is receiving a degree; one (1) additional day for the purpose of travel will be granted where distance required to be travelled exceeds five hundred (500) kilometres one way.
Convocation Leave. 14.6.1. The Employer shall grant no more than two (2) teaching days in any school year for the teacher to attend a post-secondary convocation in which the teacher or the teacher’s spouse or child is participating as a degree or diploma recipient.
Convocation Leave. 14.8.2.1. Effective September 1 2023, the School Division will pay the employee’s salary and the salary of a substitute to a maximum of one (1) day in order that an employee may attend a post secondary convocation, if the convocation is held on a school day, at which the teacher, the teacher’s child or spouse is receiving a degree /diploma / certificate. Requests must be submitted, in writing, for prior approval of the principal.
