Contract Sequence. 1.101 The initial employment contract of a bargaining unit member shall be a one-year limited contract.
Contract Sequence. 9.021 BEGINNING, TEMPORARY, PART-TIME TEACHERS: Beginning teachers, teachers holding temporary certificates / licensed and part-time teachers shall be hired for a term of one school year. The employment contract of teachers holding temporary certificates/licenses and part-time teachers shall automatically expire at the end of the school year, unless the Board takes action by April 1 of the school year in which the contract expires to renew the employment contract. The provisions of this section shall supersede any conflicting provisions in sections 3319.08 and 3319.11 of the Ohio Revised Code.
Contract Sequence. The term of an employee’s initial employment contract shall not exceed one (1) year. Subsequent contracts if renewed by the Board shall be issued in the following sequence: two (2) consecutive one year contracts, a two (2) year contract, continuing contract.
Contract Sequence. 8.01 Each newly hired employee shall serve a three-month probationary period. A probationary discharge from employment is at the sole and unilateral discretion of the Administration and shall not be subject to the Grievance Procedure. If the employee is retained beyond his/her probationary period, then the employee will be covered by the contract sequence in R.C. 3319.081.

After the employee completes a one year contract, if the employee is reemployed, the limited contract shall be for a period of one year. If the employee is re-employed at the conclusion of this contract, the employee shall be issued a two year contract. At the end of the above contract sequence, if such contract is renewed, the employee shall be employed on a continuing contract. The provisions of this section are intended to supersede the conflicting provisions of Ohio Revised Code section 3319.081 as it relates to the sequence of contracts.

At the end of a three year or four year limited contract, the Board may interrupt the contract sequence and issue a limited one year contract with improvement plan. Nothing in the eligibility factor to offer this sequence, however, shall abridge the right of the Board to terminate or non-renew so long as termination or non-renewal is done in accordance with this Agreement.

A one (1) year probationary contract may be granted during the sequence of contracts prior to the issuance of a three (3) year limited contract, provided written concerns along with written suggestions for improvement accompany the probationary contract. This one (1) year probationary contract may be issued one (1) time during the sequence of contracts. (1-1-1-2 or 1-1-2-1).
