Common use of CONTRACT CHARGE Clause in Contracts

CONTRACT CHARGE. The Contract Charge is deducted daily from the investment base of each Indexed Strategy. The charge for a given day is calculated as a percentage of the investment base on that day. It compounds to an effective annual rate equal to the Contract Charge Rate set out on the Contract Specifications page. Early Withdrawal Charge We will deduct an Early Withdrawal Charge from the Account Value of this Contract if it is surrendered or a withdrawal is taken prior to the seventh Contract Anniversary. The Early Withdrawal Charge is equal to the Early Withdrawal Charge rate multiplied by the amount that is subject to such charge. The amount that is subject to the charge is the portion of the Account Value that you withdraw or surrender. The amount you withdraw or surrender includes any amount needed to pay the Early Withdrawal Charge itself. It does not include the amount covered by your Free Withdrawal Allowance. The Early Withdrawal Charge rates are set out on the Contract Specifications page. An Early Withdrawal Charge does not apply to a withdrawal or surrender on or after the seventh Contract Anniversary.
