Continuing Education Leave Sample Clauses

Continuing Education Leave. The Employer and PCAM mutually recognize that additional and continuing education of Employees is desirable as a means of enhancing patient care and improving the effectiveness of Employee performance. At its discretion and subject to the availability of funding, the Employer will grant an education leave to each Employee of up to a maximum of five (5) scheduled working days, without loss of basic pay or benefits, per fiscal year. The education leave shall be for the purposes of Continuing Education and will include travel days to and from such continuing education events. To be eligible for this time to attend Continuing Education sessions, a request for leave of absence must be submitted to the employee's Medical Director at least two (2) weeks' prior to the days off requested and is subject to approval by the Head of Service of the applicable program. Continuing Education Leave shall be pro-rated for Employees who have worked less than one (1) full year of service as of the commencement of the fiscal year.

Continuing Education Leave. ‌ When a continuing education course is offered during an employee’s normal work schedule, the employee may be authorized continuing education leave. Continuing education leave authorization shall be subject to the approval of the Department Head and must be directly related to the employee’s present position or career advancement within the department. Continuing education leave shall be considered as time worked.

Continuing Education Leave. The City shall allow up to sixty (60) hours off with pay per year to employees in Units M [PEU0], P-1 [PEU1] and P-2 [PEU1], who are required:
Continuing Education Leave. Upon approval of the Department Head, Management employees may utilize up to forty (40) hours of release time annually for attending formal education classes related to the specific duties of his/her position.
Continuing Education Leave. A teacher shall, upon written request to the Principal, be granted a leave of absence without pay for purposes of pursuing a full-time course of studies in an accredited institution of higher learning. Such leave shall be granted to any teacher of at least three (3) years service to the school. Such leave shall be granted for one (1) school year, with a possibility of renewal for one (1) additional school year upon the teacher's written request to the Principal prior to April 1st of the first school year. Continuing Education Leave. Section 1. An employee who must maintain licensure or certification which is deemed by Management to be essential to hospital treatment needs or to satisfy criteria which enable reimbursement from Medicare/Medicaid or other revenue sources, shall, if staffing permits, be granted an amount of paid release time sufficient to the maintenance of said licensure or certification. The Employer may reimburse employees for attending such training subject to budgetary constraints.

Continuing education offerings assist the nurse in obtaining contact hours necessary for re-licensure, or for taking of State Board exams.
