Content/Use Restrictions. Registrants must comply with the .ECO Purpose and Principles and provide accurate information in their .ECO-profiles. Applicants must complete an .ECO-profile that includes a series of mandatory and voluntary questions about commitments, memberships, certification, reporting and other activities undertaken in support of Community goals. Responses will form an .ECO-profile webpage that will be added to a public online database called the .ECO System. Registrant .ECO-profiles will be linked to the registrant’s .ECO domain via a .ECO logo trust-xxxx. The Organization will develop a process to establish, regularly review, and update the .ECO-profile Registrant questions. The types of .ECO use will be not-for-profit, business, individual, government, and product. Organization will develop a method to flag controversial strings based on: existing public policy, community recommendations; industry sector and green-washing watch-lists; and research⁄surveys. Controversial names will not be automatically blocked but registrants selecting flagged names will be notified that registration will be subject to additional scrutiny. Registry, in consultation with Organization, will develop a set of review guidelines to maximize .ECO System accuracy and to ensure compliance with the .ECO eligibility requirements. Registry will report annually on review process and results to the Organization. To use a .ECO domain name a registrant must sign a Registrant Agreement that explains the actions they will need to take in support of the .ECO purpose and policies. Registrants must review and⁄or update their .ECO-profiles at least annually. Non-compliant Registrants will be reminded by the Registry 30 and 10 days prior to the mandatory review date. Domain names with .ECO-profiles that remain non-compliant 12 months after the review date will be subject to takedown proceedings. This requirement further strengthens our rights protection and WHOIS accuracy mechanisms. Anywhere a registrant references .ECO (or Dot Eco) and⁄or the .ECO logo, the registrant’s corresponding Eco-profile URL must also be displayed (i.e., as a footnote or hyperlink) as the .ECO logo must directly reference the registrant’s .ECO-profile. Registrants must complete all mandatory .ECO-profile questions. Registrants can indicate if the information in their .ECO-profile has been independently verified, and if so, include the verifier and validity⁄expiry dates.

Registry Operator reserves the right to withdraw the use of a domain name from a member or associate if the corresponding website threatens the brand image, the activity of the Movement, or public decency. Specific measures will be set up if a domain name is registered with mal-‐intent. Enforcement Because Registry Operator is the “single registrant” of the TLD, the risk of conflicts will be reduced to a minimum. Registry Operator will delegate the use of domain names to the members and associates on a “first come, first served” basis. To implement the policies described above, Registry Operator intends to entrust the development of the TLD to a specific department named « GT Internet », which is already responsible for validating the domain name requests from some members, acting as a go-‐between with the registrars and verifying how domain names that refer to the brand are used by community members. This team is made up today of 10 people, divided into two groups: ∗ The first one is in charge of animating websites and enriching content (editorial and promotional). ∗ The second one is in charge of the website creation part, customer relationship, internal and external communication The second group manages the domains names and will continue this mission extended to the TLD by instruction of the Registry Operator. Creation of three positions to respond to the specific needs of the registry is anticipated. The three positions opened correspond to one position in charge of the project, one position as customer support and one technical position. At the launch of the TLD, the three people will be involved in receiving the requests for the use of domain names from members and associates, to verify the membership of the applicant and to decide on the request. They will also have to verify that the domain names correspond effectively to a trademark during the sunrise period and that they respect the rules established in Registry Operator’s response to question 18 of its New gTLD Program application. During the following years, the customer support will be the only one in charge of this task. Registry Operator will monitor the us...
