CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY OVERVIEW. This section aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the composition of the construction industry in Northern Ireland, in terms of the profile of its workforce, employment trends and the current economic situation. - A total of 10,395 businesses were either registered for VAT or operating a PAYE scheme in the construction industry in NI in June 2009 - Approximately 21% of all contractors do not have any direct employees. Just over 40% have between one and four employees, with a further 27% having between five and nineteen employees. Just under 10% currently employ 20 or more individuals within their company - 72% of companies undertake work for the general public, approximately half of all firms perform work for other commercial clients or act as a sub-contractor for other firms and just under 40% carry out work for Government or Public Sector clients - Total construction employment in Northern Ireland is forecast to reach around 69,880 by 2014, a 2% increase on the 2010 level - 87.7% of those employed in the sector are male - 12% of employers said they employed or had employed in the last 6 months a worker who was not a UK citizen or passport holder - The construction sector has a poor health and safety record, with the second highest incident rate per 100,000 workers after the agricultural industry (6.4 in 2007 / 2008) - Between 2010 and 2014, total construction output in Northern Ireland is expected to rise at an annual average rate of 1.1%, somewhat lower than the UK’s average of 1.7% - The main impacts of the economic downturn for employers in NI have been reduced levels of work (cited by 63% of employers) and having to lay off staff (23%). However a tenth of companies reported experiencing no particular impact of the economic downturn, much lower than found UK wide (23%) - The main business challenge for employers in Northern Ireland is the need to increase sales (50%) followed by dealing with economic downturn (39%) - 57% of companies have reduced the amount of training provided due to the downturn, common areas included job-specific and health and safety training - 44% of companies had expanded into different markets or changed the focus of their work due to the downturn

  • Construction Management Landlord or its Affiliate or agent shall supervise the Work, make disbursements required to be made to the contractor, and act as a liaison between the contractor and Tenant and coordinate the relationship between the Work, the Building and the Building’s Systems. In consideration for Landlord’s construction supervision services, Tenant shall pay to Landlord a construction supervision fee equal to three percent (3%) of Tenant’s Costs specified in Section 7.

  • Construction Management Plan Contractor shall prepare and furnish to the Owner a thorough and complete plan for the management of the Project from issuance of the Proceed Order through the issuance of the Design Professional's Certificate of Material Completion. Such plan shall include, without limitation, an estimate of the manpower requirements for each trade and the anticipated availability of such manpower, a schedule prepared using the critical path method that will amplify and support the schedule required in Article 2.1.5 below, and the Submittal Schedule as required in Article 2.2.3. The Contractor shall include in his plan the names and resumés of the Project Superintendent, Project Manager and the person in charge of Safety.

  • Construction Manager’s Fee The following shall be deemed included in the Construction Manager’s fee for services during the Construction Phase.

  • Construction Completion The related Construction shall have been completed substantially in accordance with the related Plans and Specifications, the related Deed and all Applicable Laws, and such Leased Property shall be ready for occupancy and operation. All fixtures, equipment and other property contemplated under the Plans and Specifications to be incorporated into or installed in such Leased Property shall have been substantially incorporated or installed, free and clear of all Liens except for Permitted Liens.

  • CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT & PROMOTION FUND 19.01 The Employer shall contribute to the Union’s Construction Industry Development and Promotion Fund (the “Industry Fund”) the amount identified at Schedule “A” for each hour worked by each employee covered by this Agreement, and it shall remit such contributions to the Union together with union dues, and in the manner described in the Remittances to the Union article and in the Union’s remittance directives.

  • Drawings and Specifications at the Project Site The Contractor shall keep at the Site at least one copy of the Contract Documents and Change Orders, all in good order and available to the Design Professional and to his representatives.

  • Project Overview The Statement of Work (SOW) documents the Project Scope, methodology, roles and responsibilities, implementation Stages, and deliverables for the implementation of Tyler products.   • Construction Phase Services 3.1.1 – Basic Construction Services

  • Construction Plans Tenant shall prepare final plans and specifications for the Tenant Improvements that (a) are consistent with and are logical evolutions of the Approved Schematic Plans and (b) incorporate any other Tenant-requested (and Landlord-approved) Changes (as defined below). As soon as such final plans and specifications ("Construction Plans") are completed, Tenant shall deliver the same to Landlord for Landlord's approval, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld, conditioned or delayed. All such Construction Plans shall be submitted by Tenant to Landlord in electronic .pdf, CADD and full-size hard copy formats, and shall be approved or disapproved by Landlord within ten (10) business days after delivery to Landlord. Landlord's failure to respond within such ten (10) business day period shall be deemed approval by Landlord. If the Construction Plans are disapproved by Landlord, then Landlord shall notify Tenant in writing of its objections to such Construction Plans, and the parties shall confer and negotiate in good faith to reach agreement on the Construction Plans. Promptly after the Construction Plans are approved by Landlord and Tenant, two (2) copies of such Construction Plans shall be initialed and dated by Landlord and Tenant, and Tenant shall promptly submit such Construction Plans to all appropriate Governmental Authorities for approval. The Construction Plans so approved, and all change orders approved (to the extent required) by Landlord, are referred to herein as the "Approved Plans."

  • LOT OVERVIEW This Contract encompasses the Lots listed in Appendix D – Contractor and Reseller Information. The following descriptions, as applicable, delineate the scope of the awarded Lots.
