Confirmation Test Sample Clauses

Confirmation Test. An additional analytical procedure used to identify the presence of a specific drug or metabolite in a specimen. The confirmation test must be different in scientific principle from that of the initial test procedure. The confirmation method must be capable of providing requisite specificity, sensitivity, and quantitative accuracy.

Confirmation Test. 2. The urine sample is first tested using the initial drug screening procedure. An initial positive test result will not be considered conclusive and will not be released but rather, it will be classified as “confirmation pending”. Notification of test results to the Chief of Police shall be held until the confirmation test results are obtained and verified by the MRP.
Confirmation Test a. When required, the confirmation test shall be performed not less than fifteen (15) minutes nor greater than twenty (20) minutes after completion of the screening test.
Confirmation Test. Testing shall screen, at a minimum, for the following substances and test results must be below the following levels to result in a negative: Drugs Tested (EMIT) Initial Test Cut-off Level (ng/ml) (GC/MS)Confirmation Test Cut-off Level (ng/ml) Amphetamines 1000 500 Barbiturates 300 200 Benzodiazepines 300 200 Cannabinoids (Marijuana – THC) 50 15 Cocaine Metabolite 300 150 Methadone 300 200 Opiates 2000 2000 Phencyclidine (PCP) 25 25 Propoxyphene 300 200 Breath/Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) .04% .04%
Confirmation Test. 2. The urine sample is first tested using the initial drug screening procedure. The laboratory will not release a positive screening result to the City of Port Washington until it has been confirmed by an alternate more specific methods (XX.XX).
Confirmation Test. Should a confirmation test be required, the test procedure will be technologically different and more sensitive than the initial screening test. The City and the Association will agree within one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days as to a SAMHSA/CAP FUDTP certified laboratory selected to conduct drug testing. The laboratory selected shall be experienced and capable of quality control documentation, chain of custody and have a demonstrated technical expertise and proficiency in urinalysis and shall comply with all requirement of SAMHSA/CAP FUDTP. The City shall require any laboratory selected for collecting samples to conduct a background investigation on those laboratory personnel involved in the collecting or handling of an unsealed sample. In addition, the City shall require any laboratory selected for collecting samples to use only employees who have not been arrested by Officers of the San Antonio Police Department or convicted of a felony or misdemeanor crime involving dishonest conduct or possession of illegal drugs to be involved in the collecting or handling of an unsealed sample collected from an Officer. Test results shall be inadmissible in any administrative disciplinary hearing if it is determined that the laboratory collecting samples failed to conduct a background investigation on the laboratory personnel involved in collecting or handling the unsealed sample which resulted in a positive test result. All records pertaining to the Department required drug tests shall remain confidential except to the extent used in a disciplinary process and appeal. Drug test results and records shall be stored in a locked file under the control of the Chief. The Chief will maintain original copies submitted by the laboratory. No access to these files shall be allowed without written approval of the Chief.
Confirmation Test. The confirmatory test must be conducted on the same EBT as the initial test in accordance with 49 CFR part 654. Before the confirmatory test may be given, a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes must have passed since the initial test was performed. During this period, the employee should avoid any actions that could increase mouth alcohol. The 15-20 minute waiting period is to ensure that the presence of mouth alcohol does not artificially raise the test result. Only the results of the confirmatory test shall be reported, irrespective of the results on the initial test. If the results of the initial and confirmatory tests are not identical, the confirmation test result is deemed to be the final test result. If the results of the confirmatory test are less than .04 alcohol concentration, a negative result shall be reported by the BAT.

Confirmation Test. 1. If the result of the screening test is an alcohol concentration of 0.02 or greater, a confirmation test must be performed.
Confirmation Test. A second analytical drug testing procedure to identify the presence of a specific drug or metabolite which is independent of the initial test and which uses a different technique and chemical principle from that of the initial test in order to ensure reliability and accuracy. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is the only authorized confirmation method for DOT mandated drug testing. Controlled Substances: Substances listed on Schedules I through V in 21 U.S.C. 802 as they may be revised from time to time (21 CFR 1308). Controlled substances include illicit drugs and drugs which may be authorized for use by a physician or dentist for certain medical uses, but which are subject to misuse or abuse. City: City of Gladstone Covered Driver: Individual who is required to hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for his/her job with The City and who is subject to drug testing under Federal Highway Administration, Department of Transportation regulations (49 CFR Parts 40 and 382). DOT: United States Department of Transportation The City: The City of Gladstone FHWA: Federal Highway Administration GVWR: Gross Vehicular Weight Rating; size criterion for determining classification of a commercial motor vehicle under federal regulations. Initial or Screening Test: An immunoassay screen to eliminate “negative” urine specimens from further consideration. Medical Review Officer (MRO): A licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy with knowledge of drug abuse disorders and drug testing who is responsible for reviewing and verifying drug testing results prior to their communication to the Human Resources Department.
Confirmation Test. All specimens identified as positive on the initial tests shall be confirmed using a second test, a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GS/MS) test, or an equivalent or more accurate scientifically alcohol will be confirmed using gas chromatography. All confirmations shall be done by quantitative analysis. The following confirmation cutoff levels shall be used when analyzing specimens to determine whether they are positive or negative for these drugs or metabolites. All levels equal to or exceeding the following shall be reported as positive: Alcohol (CDL holders only) .02% (by breath alcohol testing) Alcohol (all other testing) .05g% (by blood) Amphetamines 500 ng/ml Cannaabinoids 15 ng/ml Cocaine 150 ng/ml Phencyclidine 25 ng/ml Methaqualone 150 ng/ml Opiates 300 ng/ml Barbiturates 150 ng/ml Benzodiazepines 150 ng/ml Methadone 150 ng/ml Propoxyphene 150 ng/ml These levels will remain in effect until such time as they are revised by Federal Legislation or State Statute. All new levels will become effective the date specified within the related legislation.
