Common use of Condition of Continued Employment Clause in Contracts

Condition of Continued Employment. All present employees covered by this agreement who do not make applications for membership in the Union within 30 calendar days of the effective date of this agreement shall, as a condition of employment, pay to the Union a representation fee in lieu of monthly dues and initiation fees for administration of this agreement. New employees shall be allowed 30 calendar days after employment in which to comply with this requirement. Employees who fail to comply with this requirement shall be discharged by the Employer if the employee fails to comply after seven calendar days from the receipt of written notice from the Union.
