Community Schools. XXXX agrees to promptly convene a study committee, to include representatives of SEIU Local 500, MCAAP/MCBOA and MCEA, to discuss the work of members of the various bargaining units resulting from the extended hours that community schools are open and the additional services provided that are not provided in other locations. The committee should determine the best options for meeting community needs while being aware of pressures on bargaining unit members and exploring how best this can be accommodated which may include additional resources to take on the additional work load being shouldered by identified staff.
Community Schools. As part of the partnership required by the School Code, the Board shall obtain funding from external agencies and/or in-kind donations to fund between 20 and 55 community schools. Said funding or in-kind donations shall have a value of a minimum of $500,000 per school annually, which amounts are not to be commingled with district or school funds. The Board and the Union agree to form a 20-person task force, with 10 persons appointed by each, to effec- tuate, monitor and implement the following initiatives with respect to these community schools: n An agreed process to select the schools n Consultation with LSC, principals and commu- nity members n Program elements may include, without limita- tion: n Medical or mental health services available to the school community n The expansion of after-school programs n The expansion of facility use for students or the school community n Social-emotional supports/trauma interven- tions n Parent mentor and home visit program n Restorative Justice Coordinator and profes- sional development for parents, students and staff n Clinical services and community program- ming n STLS coordinator, homelessness services, tru- ancy supports, food pantry n Coordination of City and Park District services
Community Schools. 20 students per class with a cap of 30 students on the active register, unless otherwise allowed by applicable law.

Community Schools. MCPS and Local 500 agree to a joint work group to address issues around extended hours, staffing levels, as well as other roles and responsibilities in community schools. Paraeducator Substitute pool. MCPS and Local 500 agree to jointly study the need for an expanded substitute pool, including the potential for making substitutes available for general ed paraeducators as well.

Community Schools a. Pre-K or community schools is a distinct staffing category.
Community Schools. In the Northern Areas: (a) provision of additional financial support through grants for up to 800 community schools; and (b) provision of additional technical and institutional support, inter alia, for: (i) the training of DOE staff in social organization and mobilization; (ii) the piloting of various modalities of providing management and financial support to community schools; and (iii) the training of DOE staff involved in the design and supervision of the community schools program.
