Common use of Common-Law Spouse Clause in Contracts

Common-Law Spouse. A spouse by marriage or under any other formal union recognized by law, or a partner (same sex or opposite sex) represented as a spouse for at least the last twelve (12) months. An employee may not have as a spouse more than one person at a time.

Common-Law Spouse. A spouse by marriage or under any other formal union recognized by law, or a partner (same sex or opposite sex) represented as a spouse for at least the last twelve twenty-four (1224) monthsmonths or as otherwise defined by the benefits carrier. An employee may not have as a spouse more than one person at a time.
