College Promotion Committees. Each College Promotion Committee shall consist of not fewer than five nor more than nine Associate and/or full Professors. The Xxxx of the College shall determine the size of the committee within these guidelines. The faculty members of each College shall elect the members of the committee. The Chairperson of the committee shall be elected by the members of the committee and shall vote.

College Promotion Committees. A. All faculty serving on a college promotion committee shall hold, at a minimum, the rank being sought by the candidate(s), as such, if any candidate is applying for promotion to professor, all members of the college promotion committee must hold the rank of professor. Should a department not have any full professor available the senior tenured member of the department, not applying for promotion, shall represent the department on the college promotion committee.

College Promotion Committees. RESPONSIBILITIES. The CPC shall consider all promotion recommendations received from departments and present its recommendations, along with supporting data, to the xxxx no later than January 18. The names of faculty members who are not recommended shall be presented to the xxxx along with supporting data. To allow affected faculty to appeal to the CPC, the CPC chairperson shall provide written notification to each affected faculty member of the CPC's positive or negative recommendation prior to the January 18 deadline for transmittal to the xxxx. This notice shall include complete copies of all recommendation letters and appended materials, positive or negative, that the CPC proposes to send forward to the xxxx so that the candidate has the opportunity to review and respond to all recommendation documents before they are sent forward. This notice shall, in the case of a negative recommendation, advise the affected faculty member of the areas in which his/her professional performance was found to be insufficient for promotion. The CPC may review and recommend administrators for academic promotion. Any CPC member may, without prejudice, decline the opportunity to participate in the promotion review of an administrator.
