Efficient methods and tools are necessary in order to be able to implement, verify and validate functional products and related models, processes and software tools. In addition, needed is to support identification of the important customer values, i.e. both spoken and unspoken customer needs. Monitoring and efficient usage of large data streams from many different sources, both internal and external ones, enables the support for sustainable machining solutions. The data parameters to monitor and collect can be grouped into the three main categories, i.e. process, resources (equipment/machines) and product data. A detailed categorization and classification of data and data sources, as well as data quality issues are needed to be dealt with during the project. The data collected during the project originates from e.g. the machine shown in picture 15. In essence, the purpose is to capture relevant information that can be related to the machining of a component and interlink these with parameters related to the resources and the product data. The process-related parameters include data before, during and after the machining process. By capturing process data and combine these with data from resources and product data a comprehensive view of the machining situation will be available and represent knowledge. This will improve collaboration in the PLM and facilitate development of new solutions, process improvements, and trouble- shooting as well as to efficiently validate and verify models, software tools and procedures used in the functional product itself. Further, both a proactive and reactive view can be applied. Picture 15: Test Milling Machine used for the SmartVortex ISP-2 scenario
CNC. Prior to the commencement of training, the Contractor shall give all Apprentices a comprehensive induction to the Training Establishment which meets the requirements of the Phase one (1) Standards Based Apprentice Training (SBAT) Skill Syllabus with particular emphasis to be placed on all of the relevant Health and Safety requirements. The Contractor shall adhere to all applicable Health and Safety Legislation throughout the training period, and ensure that the Health and Safety of the Apprentices is not compromised in any way. The Contractor shall provide each Apprentice with a training ”Log Book”, in the agreed format and shall ensure that the Apprentices keep the Log Books up to date and that each Log Book entry is accurate and cross-referenced to the relevant section of the NVQ standards. Time is to be allocated each week to enable the Apprentices to update their Log Books. It is a MOD policy requirement that Apprentices must obtain a minimum academic qualification of a BTEC National Diploma. Apprentice Training Management, in liaison with the Contractor is to determine the most suitable course of study that each Apprentice will follow, with regard to their individual qualifications held on entry. The Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that the Training Courses selected are delivered, even if this should require that they Sub-Contract the training to another provider. Should there be any doubt as to what course an Apprentice is to follow, and then the final decision is to be made by Apprentice Training Management. The Contractor is to supply bi monthly Academic Reports to coincide with the Defence Munitions Gosport Apprentice Review process, even if the training is Sub-Contracted to another provider. The Contractor must highlight at the earliest stage, any academic problems an Apprentice may have, and where necessary, discuss and resolve these academic problems with Apprentice Training Management.

If CNC fails to meet this connection success standard, then notwithstanding Section 6.2.2, CNC will immediately prepare a mutually agreed upon action plan and CNC will have [*] to cure. The action plan will include the right for WNI to [*] until CNC achieves the connection success performance standard. Once CNC achieves the connection success performance standard WNI will ramp up to the Virtual Port Commitment level in effect prior to any reduction; commensurate with CNC's capacity. During the months of [*] this connection success performance standard is waived by WNI and CNC shall have not liability for any failure to achieve it.
