Class Observations. A faculty member's class shall not be observed by persons other than the College Administration without prior notice to the faculty member and approval by the Campus President. However, this provision will not apply for any program funded by a non-College source, which includes grants. If a faculty member expresses concern over an interruption of his class to his immediate Administrative Supervisor or the Campus President, the Administration will endeavor to make other arrangements.
Class Observations. The administration will collaborate with faculty members to arrange times and dates for classroom observations so as to minimize any disruptions to the teaching and learning processes. A faculty member’s class cannot be observed by persons other than the appropriate College administrator(s), unless prior notice has been given to the faculty member and has been approved by the Xxxxxxx (or his/her designee). This provision will not apply to class observations in courses or programs which are funded by a non-College source, which may include grants or other monetary awards which require such class observations.
Class Observations. 1714 The Administration will collaborate with faculty members to establish a range of dates and times for 1715 classroom observations so as to minimize any disruptions to the teaching and learning processes. 1716 A. For evaluation purposes, a faculty member’s class cannot be observed by persons other than the 1717 appropriate Supervising Administrator(s) or designee as defined elsewhere in the Contract.
Class Observations. Unit Managers and Academic Supervisors or senior members of the faculty designated by Academic Supervisors will request permission to visit at least one class taught by each faculty member in each Academic Unit each year. The specific class or classes to be visited will be determined in advance by means of consultation between the observer and the individual faculty member. The observer or the faculty member will have the option of requesting another faculty member to visit additional classes to make evaluations. The evaluation requires the marking of the form provided in the Appendix. The results of the evaluation will be shared with the faculty member in individual conferences. The faculty member may respond to the evaluation on the form or append a response to the form. This evaluation, with the faculty member’s response, will be included in the annual evaluation of faculty members. Faculty members have the right to refuse permission to others to enter their classes. Such refusals must be stated in writing and submitted to the Academic Supervisor. The evaluation form and any appended documents will be included in the faculty member’s file.

Class Observations. Class observations of part-time faculty will be conducted by the Coordinator (or faculty designee). The part-time faculty member will be provided with an observation rubric at least two weeks in advance of the scheduled observation date. Part-time faculty will be allowed time to ask for clarification about the rubric before being observed. If there are concerns by the Coordinator (or faculty designee) resulting from the observation, the part-time faculty will be offered recommendations for improvement and the opportunity for a second observation to address these concerns.
