Class Attendance. Unless otherwise specified in the syllabus provided by my program director or by an instructor at my host university, I am responsible for attending all of my classes and excursions except in the event of illness or extraordinary circumstances beyond my control. I will complete or make-up any coursework I may miss as a result of being absent. Visits from family and friends are not an excuse to miss class. If I wish to count these courses towards any other department’s curriculum, I must complete a Course Equivalency Form, which can be found under the Materials section of my online application. ○ (For non-faculty-led programs): I am responsible for submitting a Course Equivalency Form in order for the courses I take abroad to count for major, minor and/or general education courses at Rutgers. An Academic ▇▇▇▇ or Chair of my department must approve the courses I take abroad to count for equivalencies at Rutgers University, and I am responsible for meeting with them to receive advising and the required signatures. I understand that if I take courses without prior approval by my academic department that the class credits may not be applicable towards my degree(s).

Employees must follow all processes and requirements for limited-enrollment/restricted-entry programs.‌ 16.2.4 Classified employees hired into budgeted .500 FTE or greater positions who retire from the college shall be entitled to a tuition waiver of one‌ (1) class per term. 16.2.5 Family/Partner tuition waiver benefits are extended to qualified dependents defined as a qualified spouse, domestic partner, or persons for whom the employee is a legal guardian or an IRS dependent.‌ 16.2.6 Classified employees working .500 FTE or more and those covered by Article 3.4.2 will have unlimited tuition waivers for each qualified family member or partner. Classified employees working from .200 to .499 FTE will have one tuition waiver per eligible family member or partner.‌ 16.2.7 Classified employees will be responsible for submitting to the College the certification of persons qualifying before their registration of‌ classes. 16.2.8 Tuition waivers available to each qualified family member or partner are subject to the maximum enrollment limits in a class and are subject to adequate enrollment of the other students in the class. A tuition waiver student will not be counted toward minimum enrollment in a class without an approved exemption from the College.‌ 16.2.9 Tuition waivers shall cover only tuition and shall not include class fees, project-material costs, or other related costs. Class Attendance. Employees enrolled in accredited and District-approved education shall be entitled to limited flexibility in regular work schedules to accommodate class attendance as determined and Pre- approved by the Fire Chief or his/her designee. To accommodate class attendance requirements only, limitations imposed by the terms of this Agreement pertaining to shift trades and vacation, may be waived upon prior request by the employee and approval of the Fire Chief or his/her designee. As a general principle, education will be approved subject to the employee making shift trades as necessary to assure that minimal operational staffing is maintained without incurring overtime. However, if, in the sole judgment of the Fire Chief, the benefits to the District of the education outweigh the staffing consideration, the Fire Chief may grant an education request requiring overtime staffing in whole or in part. An Education Request shall clearly indicate any and all overtime staffing that will be incurred.
Class Attendance. Students must arrive on time and is prepared for class. Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back the entire class.
