CLAIMS AND ENCUMBRANCES. The Contractor shall satisfy as due all lawful claims of any persons or entities employed by the Contractor, including subcontractors, materialmen and laborers, for all labor performed and materials furnished under this contract, including the applicable warranty or correction period, unless the Government shall be directly liable therefor by contract. The Contractor shall not at any time permit any lien, attachment, or other encumbrance to be entered against or to remain on the building(s), or the premises, whether public or private, or any portion thereof, as a result of nonperformance of any part of this contract.
