CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES. SECTION 1. Eligible employees who are in a duty status on any election day shall be granted time to vote in accordance with applicable regulations. As a general rule, where the polls are not open at least 3 hours either before or after an employee’s regular hours of work he may be granted an amount of excused leave which will permit him to report for work 3 hours after the polls open or leave work 3 hours before the polls close, whichever requires the lesser amount of time off.

CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES. 24.1 The Union agrees to cooperate with the Employer in truly voluntary charity programs, e.g., Combined Federal Campaign, Blood Donor Program, and to lend its support to these worthy causes.
CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES. Section 1. Employee absences and entitlement to fees and travel expenses for court and court related services will be in accordance with applicable law and regulations. The table in Appendix 4 is provided for determining such entitlement. Any fees received from the court for the purpose of such duty shall be delivered to the Employer together with satisfactory evidence of time served on such duties. Such evidence shall be in the form of a signed statement from the Court or other satisfactory evidence of the time served on such duty. Allowance received for meals, transportation, etc., will be retained by the employee. Intermittent employees while not eligible for court leave will be excused and may retain any fees received.
CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES. S ection 1: In the event an employee is summoned for jury duty or jury qualification, he shall be paid at his basic rate for the time required to perform such duties. Such pay shall be limited to the time necessary, not to exceed normal work hours per day.

It is understood that Registered Nurses who do not intend to vote or who are not eligible to vote are not entitled to such time off. If the Registered Nurse’s voting place is beyond normal commuting distance and vote by absentee ballot is not permitted, the Registered Nurse may, upon written request, be granted additional time off, as appropriate, in accordance with applicable regulations and on a case by case basis. 1704 For Registered Nurses who vote in jurisdictions which require registration in person, excused time to register will be granted on the same basis for voting, except that no time shall be granted if registration can be accomplished by mail or on a non-workday. 1705 Jury Duty 1706 A Registered Nurse who reports for jury duty and who is granted court leave will be excused from work on the days required to serve. A Registered Nurse who is granted court leave and is excused or released by the court for any day or substantial portion of a day is expected to return to duty except when only a small part of the work day would be involved; or the distance from the court to the work place is such that it would place an unreasonable requirement upon the Registered Nurse, or the regular tour of duty occurs on evenings or nights. CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES. The Superintendent shall devote his time, attention and energy to the business of the District. However, the Superintendent is expected and encouraged as a part of his duties to actively serve and consult with various civic and governmental committees, boards, commissions, xxxxxxxx and educational organizations committed to the improvement of public education locally, statewide, and nationally. He is also expected and encouraged to act as a representative of the District in all civic, school business, labor, social, welfare and other community interests and activities in which the District is interested, and may engage in same to the extent necessary but not to affect adversely the performance of his duties to the District, nor be in conflict therewith.
