City Service Seniority. City service seniority shall be defined as the effective date of appointment to the employee's first permanent career position, or as the effective date of appointment to the employee's first full-time position (or positions) which immediately preceded an appointment to a permanent career position, whichever is greater. For a part-time career employee, City seniority shall be prorated.

City Service Seniority. Seniority is determined by an employee's length of continuous service with the City since the employee's last date of hire as a regular employee; or in the case of a part-time employee, from the last date of hire as a regular part-time employee.
