You must read and agree to the terms of this policy. Use of the chromebook provided to the student by the school district is a privilege, not a right. The Board of Education’s loan of equipment is provided for educational purposes only. Unauthorized and inappropriate use will result in a cancellation and/or loss of this privilege. Students are expected to treat their issued chromebook with proper care. The only financial obligation for parents and students will be for instances when there is damage to the chromebook. Accidental damage charges are $25 for the first occurrence, $35 for the second occurrence, and full cost of the repair for three or more occurrences. Damage charges due to neglect and mistreatment of the chromebook are the full cost of the repair or full cost of the chromebook. Details of these charges are explained completely in the 1:1 Chromebook Policy posted on the district website. Chromebook Policy. ● Chromebooks used by students must be approved by the school, and bear a school issued sticker with the school logo and the student’s name. This sticker will be issued by the school on approval of the device. ● Students must come to school each day with a fully charged battery. Students should not need to bring their charging cable to school as the Chromebooks are to be charged at home only. CCA does not have facilities to support a charging station, nor security to safeguard the devices if left charging. ● CCA will restrict usage of the Chromebook to selected site/apps while at school. Parents are able to maintain this restriction at home or have the restriction removed from their child’s device after school hours and on the weekends. ● Students & families will be responsible for the well-being of the Chromebook and will be financially responsible for any damages or replacements. ● Please refer to the “Technology Use Policy” listed above and the signed “Acceptable Use Policy” given during Chromebook registration for additional information regarding use.
