Christmas/New Year’s. (a) In order to accommodate the Christmas/New Year’s scheduling, normal scheduling provisions shall not operate during the period of December 15th to January 9th (first weekend after New Year).

Christmas/New Year’s. 1. The department will schedule an employee to Christmas day or New Years’ day off.
Christmas/New Year’s. Subject to the staffing/operating requirements of the Retirement Lodge and except with the employee’s consent, the Employer will schedule an employee off on either Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. The Employer will endeavour to schedule the day off on a rotating basis from year to year provided that the Employer can fulfill its staffing needs. Where the Employer cannot schedule an employee for a day off or cannot schedule the day off on a rotating basis, the Employer will require the employee(s) to work in inverse order of seniority. Subject to the staffing/operating requirements of the Retirement Lodge, the employer will endeavour to schedule an employee off for a total of three (3) consecutive calendar days at either Christmas or New Year’s. In order that the Employer may accordingly schedule employees off, the normal scheduling provisions shall not apply during the period of December 15th to January 15th.
Christmas/New Year’s. Except where an employee consents otherwise, the Employer will schedule employees off for three (3) or more consecutive days at either Christmas or New Year's, subject to the Employer being able to satisfy its staffing requirements. The choice of Christmas or New Year's will be in accordance with seniority. If the Employer is able to schedule any employees off for more than three (3) days and still satisfy its staffing requirements, the additional time off will be scheduled in accordance with seniority. It is agreed that the normal scheduling provisions shall not apply during the period of December 15th - January 8th and employees will not be granted vacation, floating holidays or lieu days, or personal leaves of absence during this period. In the event of conflict, bargaining unit seniority shall be the decisive factor. Written requests for this time off must be received by the Director of Resident Care by November 1st. Christmas and New Year's time off shall be posted by November 15th.

Christmas/New Year’s. A Nurse who works Christmas shall be scheduled to be off for at least four (4) consecutive days over New Year’s and vice versa. Such days shall be provided through a combination of designated holidays and regularly scheduled days off, mutually agreed between the Employee and the Employer. Nurses can endeavour to arrange five (5) consecutive days off days off through the self-scheduling process where possible.
Christmas/New Year’s. The Employer will endeavour to schedule employees off at either Christmas or New Years in alternate years, unless otherwise mutually agreed.

Christmas/New Year’s. Each Nurse shall receive either Christmas day or New Year's day off on the actual day during that particular season. Nurses may be able to use one (1) additional banked holiday over the period of December 15th to January 15th, provided this one (1) day is not on December 25th or January 1st of the same season. Such future days off may be restricted by Article 10.05 (c) and, as well, may only be accommodated in peak periods with consent of the Employer.

In the event that there are more people available to work on either holiday than is required, then on a rotational basis, by rotating seniority, employee will be given the option of having both days off. The Employer will endeavour to schedule the day off on a rotating basis from year to year provided that the Employer can fulfill its staffing needs. In the event the Employer cannot fulfill the staffing needs, the Employer will schedule employees in reverse order of seniority.
