Choice of Vacation Period. A. It is agreed to establish a nationwide program for vacation planning for employees in the regular work force with emphasis upon the choice vacation period(s) or variations thereof.

Choice of Vacation Period. Vacation time shall be prearranged so that the normal operation of the schools can be maintained. Prearranged shall mean at least five (5) working days’ notice for any vacation except in cases of emergency. Vacations shall be granted at the time requested by the employee unless the nature of the work makes it necessary to limit the number of employees on vacation at the same time. In the event of any conflict over vacation periods, the employee with the greater seniority shall be given his/her choice of vacation period provided that he/she has made that choice within a thirty (30) day period prior to the requested vacation dates. However, in cases of emergencies special consideration will be given.

D3 The subject of whether an employee may at the employee's option request two (2) selections during the choice peri- od(s), in units of either 5 or 10 working days, the total not to exceed the ten (10) or fifteen (15) days above, may be determined pursuant to local implementation procedures. D4 The remainder of the employee's annual leave may be granted at other times during the year, as requested by the employee. E The vacation period shall start on the first day of the employee's basic work week. Exceptions may be granted by agreement among the employee, the Union representative and the Employ- er. F An employee who is called for jury duty during the employee's scheduled choice vacation period or who attends a National, State, or Regional Convention (Assembly) during the choice va- cation period is eligible for another available period provided this does not deprive any other employee of first choice for scheduled vacation.

Choice of Vacation Period. Increments: Vacations may be scheduled in one-day increments, except that employees may request vacation leave time of no less than one (1) hour duration sixteen (16) times during a fiscal year. All vacation will be subject to pre-approval as determined by the Employer and will be taken at such times as will not interfere with the efficient scheduling of the Employer. By Seniority: In the event it becomes necessary to limit the number of employees who can take a vacation at the same time, those employees having greater seniority shall have first choice of vacation periods.
