Charge Premium. The charge premium of $1.00 per hour will be paid to a nurse who is designated in writing by the unit manager to have responsibilities for coordinating unit staff and activities related to patient care and patient care assignments. The selection and the assignment of the charge nurse differential shall be at the sole discretion of the unit nursing manager. It is understood that any relief charge nurse identified in writing by the unit manager shall be entitled to the charge differential when carrying out such assignments in the absence of the charge nurse.
Charge Premium. Effective April 6, 2008, a Registered Nurse assigned to work more than one (1) hour as Charge Nurse shall be paid a Charge Nurse premium of $2.25 per hour for each hour s/he works as Charge Nurse.

Charge Premium. Where the Employer designates a Licensed Practical Nurse to assume “in charge” responsibility in the absence of the manager, she shall be paid an additional one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour. Hours to which the premium applies will be designated by the manager.
Charge Premium. Effective date of ratification, an employee who is required to be in charge of the facility shall be paid a premium of two dollars ($2.00) per hour for all hours worked while in charge.
Charge Premium. When a supervisor or more senior management personnel is not on duty, the Employer may assign an Employee to be in charge of the entire facility and all of its residents. The Employee assigned to be in charge shall be paid a premium of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for each hour worked with such designated charge duty.
Charge Premium. An employee performing the Charge duties shall be compensated at the rate of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) for each hour worked as a Charge. This will be paid in addition to any other shift or weekend premiums.
Charge Premium. Effective January 5, 2004, those nurses who are designated Charge Nurse by their supervisor for a nursing unit shall receive one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for such period of assignment.

Charge nurses will be designated in writing by the Hospital to have charge responsibilities. The charge nurse will be paid a differential of 5% of the nurse’s straight time rate of pay per hour for each hour worked in such charge assignments.
