Changes in Shift Assignments. Changes in employee work shift assignments will be posted ten days prior to the effective date of the shift change. Temporary adjustments in shift assignments (ten days or less) that are not necessitated by unusual circumstances demanding immediate attention will be posted at least 24 hours prior to the effective date of the shift change.

Pairs of employees can request shift changes which shall be granted if, in the Employer’s judgment, the employees currently have the requisite knowledge, skill and efficiency to perform the work. The Employer’s judgment must be exercised in good faith and is subject to the Grievance- Arbitration procedures.

Changes in Shift Assignments. Nothing in this Article shall prevent the Employer from changing shift assignments at any time to meet mission requirements, the needs of the Navy, disciplinary purposes, or for special medical needs of the Unit employees. When personnel need to be moved to another shift, the members of the impacted shift will first be given the option of changing based on seniority (highest to lowest), and if necessary assigned based on the lowest seniority. Any officer wanting to change shifts for personal reasons may do so only if mutual agreement can be reached between themselves, another officer on the impacted shift, and their supervisor(s). Supervisory decisions disapproving requests for shift changes for personal reasons will be based on just cause (such as qualifications or disciplinary actions).

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.

  • Overtime Assignments When needed, overtime work for full-time employees shall be scheduled among qualified employees doing similar work in the work location where the employees regularly work in accordance with the following:

  • Shift Assignment Should the University elect to establish a shift on any other schedule than the regular day shift (Monday through Friday) or to assign employees to work on any such shift, the employee(s) with the most seniority in the classification affected or to be assigned on such shift shall have preference in moving to such shift. If an insufficient number of employees in the classification elect to move to such shift, then the employee(s) with the least seniority in the classification shall be assigned to such shift. If positions or shifts are reduced or eliminated or movement of personnel to other shifts is required, then the seniority of the affected employee will prevail in the selection of shift, provided the affected employee can do the required work. The University shall have the right to reassign the Licensee to a different bed space without the Licensee’s consent prior to or during the term of the Agreement.
