Change of Shifts. When a shift or service employee is transferred from one schedule of workdays or work hours to another the employee shall not be entitled to overtime compensation for work performed during regular work hours of any day involved in the transfer, provided that (a) the employee has been notified of such transfer not less than 24 hours in advance of the starting time of the new shift or work period; (b) the employee has had a minimum of eight hours off between shifts or work periods; (c) as a result of such transfer the employee has not been required to work more than 40 hours at the straight rate in any workweek involved; and (d) the employee has not been required to work more than two short changes in the workweek involved. (A short change is defined as a transfer from one schedule to another with but eight hours off between shifts or work periods.) (Amended 1-1-91)
Change of Shifts. When an employee is required to change shifts, eleven (11) hours shall be allowed between shifts. If, however, an employee is required to report on a second shift less than eleven (11) hours after finishing the first shift, the employee shall be paid overtime rates for the period worked before the eleven (11) hours’ time allowed between shift changes has expired, unless mutually agreed upon.
Change of Shifts. An employee may be required to change from one shift to another, in which case, unless a break of at least 10 hours is provided between completion of one and commencement of the other, the employee shall be deemed to be working overtime and paid according to this agreement for the time actually worked. If a 10 hour break is provided, then payments are at normal applicable rates according to this agreement.
Change of Shifts. Long Term - Any Sergeant or Trooper may have his/her shift changed upon the giving of ten days notice. The notice shall be written. The shift assignment may be changed for any legitimate management reason including, but not limited to, operational needs, training needs, in-service training, minimum patrol, etc. Short Term schedule changes shall be governed by Article 17 Section Nine of the State Police Contract and past practice. Short Term Exception - Management may schedule required in-service training without advanced notice. Additionally, if a schedule change is required, it need not be made for an entire five day workweek. However, management, when practicable, should give the ten day notice. In-Service Training Defined - In-service training shall be defined as mandatory training required of all officers. There shall be a limit of five (5) short-term schedule changes per person in a contract year.
Change of Shifts. (a) Where the Company changes an Employee’s work schedule during a work period and the Employee is required to work in excess of the Employee’s normal work day of the previous schedule worked, or on the rest days of the previous schedule, the Employee shall be paid applicable overtime rates for such excess time worked. The new schedule will become the Employee’s regular schedule at the conclusion of the rest days of the previous schedule.
Change of Shifts. (a) The Employer shall attempt to provide twenty-four (24) hours notice to employees, of change of start time. (This does not apply to initial establishment of start time).

Change of Shifts. The Employer may change the shift of an employee whenever a change is necessitated by the absence of another employee due to unforeseen causes providing relief is not available and the employee whose shift is being changed receives more than eight (8) hours notification of any such change.
