Common use of Certificate of Registration Clause in Contracts

Certificate of Registration. It is each nurse’s responsibility pursuant to the College of Nurses of Ontario to ensure that their certificate of registration is kept current and valid. In the event confirmation of registration is not received by the Employer from the College, nurses shall provide copies of the renewal of their certificate of registration to the Employer not later than February 15th of each year. Failure to provide confirmation of the renewal of their qualifications shall result in the nurse being placed on an unpaid non-disciplinary leave of absence for a period not to exceed three (3) months. In the event any nurse fails to provide their certificate of registration renewal within the aforementioned three (3) month period, without providing reasonable explanation satisfactory to the Employer, the nurse shall be deemed to be no longer qualified and the nurse shall be terminated. Such termination shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration.
