CAW Paid Education Leave. (a) The Company agrees to pay into a special fund one point three (1.3) cents per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such monies to be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established by the National Union, CAW and sent by the Company to the CAW Leadership Training Fund, X.X. #0, XXX Xxxx 00, Xxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxx X0X 0X0. The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit, selected by the Union to a maximum of four (4) employees per year to attend such courses, will be granted a leave of absence without pay, for twenty (20) days of class time, plus travel time where necessary, said leaves of absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave.

CAW Paid Education Leave. The Hospital agrees to pay into a special fund, $1,250 upon ratification $1,500.00 on April 1, 2007 and $1,750 on April 1, 2008 for the purpose of providing paid education leave. The purpose of such a leave will be to upgrade employee skills in all aspects of trade Union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, CAW, and forwarded by the Company to: CAW Paid Education Leave Program 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx X0X 0X0 The Union will notify the Company in writing four (4) weeks in advance of the requirement for time off for any employee to attend training. It is understood that the operational requirements of the Company are paramount importance. Provided the operational requirements for the Company are met, the Company agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a leave of absence without pay for up to a maximum of twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary. Employees on such leave of absence will continue to accrue seniority. As per Article 12, Section 2, employees on Leave of Absence in excess of two (2) weeks may continue their benefits coverage by paying for the entire premium costs for the duration of the leave.

  • Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.
