Catastrophic Illness/Injury Leave. In cases of personal hardship to a bargaining unit employee brought on by catastrophic illness or injury, where the employee has exhausted all accumulated, unused paid leave as a result of the catastrophic illness or injury, the Board and the Union may enter into an agreement pursuant to the following guidelines to assist the affected employee through the donation of accumulated unused sick leave by other bargaining unit employees who volunteer to do so. Any decisions made by the Board and the Union through the Joint Committee established under this section shall be final, and the same shall not be subject to the grievance and arbitration procedure.

Catastrophic Illness/Injury Leave. In accordance with the provisions of AB 2007, Catastrophic Illness/Injury leave shall be available to all eligible employees. The purpose of this leave is to permit employees with a catastrophic illness or injury to have sick leave donated to them by fellow employees.
Catastrophic Illness/Injury Leave. 1. In accordance with the provisions of the law, Education Code, Section 44043.5, Catastrophic Illness/Injury leave shall be available to all eligible faculty members. Eligible faculty members shall include probationary, tenured, and adjunct faculty. The purpose of this leave is to permit faculty with a catastrophic illness or injury and who are unable to work at Glendale Community College or elsewhere to utilize paid leave by utilizing sick leave that has been donated to them by fellow faculty members.
Catastrophic Illness/Injury Leave. Upon submission of satisfactory medical evidence that demonstrates an existing catastrophic illness or injury, the Appointing Authority Employer shall grant the employee on a one-time basis, up to an additional twenty-six (26) weeks of non-intermittent non-FMLA leave. A catastrophic illness or injury is a severe or life-threatening condition that requires prolonged recovery or hospitalization and that totally incapacitates the employee from working. An employee may be granted leave under this paragraph not more than twice during their employment provided that the total aggregate amount of leave granted to any one employee shall not exceed 26 weeks.
Catastrophic Illness/Injury Leave. In the event of a catastrophic illness or injury to an employee’s spouse or dependent child that requires long term treatment with the presence of the employee at the place of treatment, the superintendent may at his or her sole discretion grant paid leave beyond that which is available through other contract leave provisions. All other appropriate and available paid leave, including personal leave, must have been used before this leave provision could apply. Denial of all or any portion of leave requested under this provision shall not be subject to grievance.

To be a candidate for this leave an Employee must have used all other forms of paid leave (i.e. sick leave, personal leave, emergency leave, or vacation). A written request must be sent to the Superintendent requesting this leave. The reason for the leave must be stated in the request. Further, the requesting person must provide medical information to verify the request. The Board may have the information reviewed by their own physician at the Board’s expense. A candidate would be eligible for catastrophic leave for an amount of days not to exceed forty (40) school days during his or her term of employment in the District. Payment for catastrophic leave will be based on the Employee’s position on the salary schedule at the time of the request. Payment for part-time Employees will be pro-rated. An Employee may apply for a maximum of twenty (20) days per request. Each subsequent request for catastrophic illness/injury leave must be submitted in writing to the Superintendent. All catastrophic leave days are to be “repaid” to the District. This repayment may include future sick leave, emergency, vacation, in-service, personal leave and/or financial reimbursement. All requests will be reviewed by the Administrative Committee of the Board, which will recommend action to the full Board. All decisions of the Board will be final.

  • Occupational Injury Leave Occupational injury leave shall be governed by the Rules promulgated on this subject and the Ohio Revised Code 5503 as they exist on March 26, 1989, except as modified in this Article. All employees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to occupational injury leave.

  • Personal Illness and Injury Leave 1. Full-time employees shall be entitled to ten (10) days leave with full-time pay for each school year for purposes of personal illness or injury. Employees who work less than full-time shall be entitled to that portion of the ten (10) days leave as the number of hours per week of scheduled duty relates to the number of hours for a full-time employee in a comparable position.

  • Disaster Leave ‌ When there has been a natural disaster of a magnitude that requires the Board of Supervisors to Proclaim a County State of Emergency, the County will enact this disaster leave provision. During the proclaimed emergency period and for up to one year from the termination of the said proclamation, County employees may donate accrued compensatory time and vacation leave to other County employees who have lost work time because they have been a victim of a disaster affecting their primary residence. For up to one year from the termination of said proclamation, impacted employees may use up to 320 hours of donated leave. Such donated time will not exceed the total amount of time lost by the receiving employee including vacation, compensatory time used and any unpaid leave incurred. Unused donated time at the expiration of the leave provision period will be returned to the donor.

  • Catastrophic Leave - Natural Disaster Upon request of an employee and upon approval of a department director or designee, leave credits (CTO, vacation, personal leave, annual leave, personal day, and/or holiday credit) shall be transferred from one or more employees to another employee, in accordance with departmental policies, under the following conditions:

  • INJURY LEAVE In the event an unusual circumstance exists regarding the original six (6) months of injury leave, and the employee did not use injury leave hours due to the injury or did not lose work time, the Fire Chief with the approval of the Human Resources Director may extend such injury leave.   • NATURAL DISASTER LEAVE 29.1 Where a permanent employee is unable to attend work because of a natural disaster, i.e. bushfire or flood, they will be entitled to be paid ordinary pay for the shift they would otherwise have worked on that day. This entitlement will apply once per calendar year and is not cumulative from year to year.

  • Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance A. During the term of this Agreement, Contractor shall at all times maintain, at its expense, the following coverages and requirements. The comprehensive general liability insurance shall include broad form property damage insurance.
