Casual Nurse Sample Clauses

Casual Nurse is a Nurse in an employment relationship which is not regular. A Casual Nurse may be offered work as outlined in this Agreement. The Employer may offer work to a Casual Nurse at the Employer’s discretion subject to the provisions of the Collective Agreement. Once a Casual Nurse accepts a work assignment including a scheduled extra shift, a relief shift, a Temporary Position, a period of Stand-By or a Call Back during a Stand-By, the Casual Nurse is obligated to work. Except where specifically excluded, the provisions of the Collective Agreement apply to a Casual Nurse.

Casual Nurse. In the event that a Casual Nurse becomes a Regular Nurse and the subsequent conversion of hours results in the same Seniority date as a current Bargaining Unit member(s), the Casual Nurse who has converted his/her hours shall be placed on the Seniority list below the other pre-established Bargaining Unit member(s) with the same Seniority date.
Casual Nurse is one who does not work on a regular and continuous basis, but who may work in cases of illness, vacation relief, holiday relief, emergency or other unforeseen circumstances. A Casual Nurse is not a member of the Bargaining Unit and is not covered by the terms of this Collective Agreement.
Casual Nurse. A casual nurse shall mean a nurse who regularly works less than the normal full- time hours referred to in Article 15.01, and who is employed on an as and when needed basis.
Casual Nurse is a nurse who works on an interim replacement or occasional basis and is paid on an hourly rate, but is not guaranteed a minimum number of hours of work on an ongoing basis. Casual work may include, but is not limited to, assignments to teach one or more series of prenatal classes, assignments involving short-term projects, assignments to replace staff on leave, and other assignments that are not of an ongoing, permanent nature.

Casual Nurse. Nurses working without a permanent assignment who 5 are employed to work on an intermittent basis as needed. Such nurses shall not be 6 eligible for either purchased or accrued benefits. Full-time and part-time nurses 7 may use casual nurses to serve as their replacements when necessary with the 8 approval of the Executive Director Patient Care Services or designee. Before the 9 schedule is posted, each Nurse Manager will indicate to the Casual Nurse which 10 shifts are available in the following schedule. A Casual Nurse must work at least 11 forty-eight (48) hours every three (3) months or ninety-six (96) hours every six (6) 12 months to retain status as a Casual. Casual nurses shall be available to work at 13 least two (2) holidays per calendar year. Low census days and/or house- 14 convenience days shall count as days worked for purposes of this section. Casual Nurse is a Nurse who works on a day to day basis as needed. The benefits of this Agreement do not apply to the Casual Nurse except that he or she receives the rate of the 3rd year salary plus an additional 6% in lieu of vacation and holiday benefits.
