Caregiver. The preferred immediate transportation option is for the student’s caregiver or another appropriate adult (such as non-custodial parents, kin, a mentor, or a CASA volunteer) to provide transportation with mileage reimbursement. Human Services caseworker will coordinate with caregiver to arrange transportation under this option. If caregiver transportation is an option, Human Services accepts sole responsibility for the costs of caregiver mileage reimbursement to the school of origin for up to the first five school days. The Human Services caseworker is responsible for arranging this with the caregiver. Starting on the sixth school day, Human Services and School District agree to share the additional costs as described in Section VIII.
Caregiver. For purposes of CHOICES or ECF CHOICES, a person who is (a) a family member or is unrelated to the member but has a close, personal relationship with the member and (b) routinely involved in providing unpaid support and assistance to the member.
