Career Break Scheme. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, a full time or part time (employed for a minimum of three (3) shifts or twenty one (21) hours per week) Employee may apply to work less than fifty two (52) weeks per year.
Career Break Scheme. 32.1 Employees will be eligible to apply for a three month unpaid career break scheme after they have been employed for 5 years and for a further three months unpaid for each subsequent 5 year period. This one year absence may be for professional and personal development, such as participation in other industry experience; post graduate study; working in overseas health systems; or for other activities, including those of a non-professional nature unrelated to the practice of nursing and midwifery. The Scheme is subject to applicable taxation law and requirements, and such law and requirements prevail to the extent of any inconsistency with the Scheme as described in this clause. Career Break Scheme. 22.5.1 The employer may provide an opportunity for the employee to take approved extended unpaid leave from the organisation to pursue personal development (ie full time study, travel etc) or to meet family commitments. If approved, the employee will be able to return to employment at the conclusion of the career break in a job at their previous level. Duration and approval of the career break scheme will be looked at on an individual basis by undertaking negotiations with management.

  • Pre-Paid Leave Plan The Hospital agrees to introduce a pre-paid leave program, funded solely by the nurse, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Disability Separation A. An employee with permanent status may be separated from service when the Employer determines that the employee is unable to perform the essential functions of the employee’s position due to a mental, sensory, or physical disability, which cannot be reasonably accommodated. Determinations of disability may be made by the Employer based on an employee’s written request for disability separation or after obtaining a written statement from a licensed physician or licensed mental health professional. The Employer can require an employee to obtain a medical examination, at Employer expense, from a licensed physician or licensed mental health professional of the Employer’s choice. Evidence may be requested from the licensed physician or licensed mental health professional regarding the employee’s limitations.

  • EARLY RETIREMENT INCENTIVE PLAN 1. The Board will pay an allowance to continuing contract teachers who retire from teaching in the District under the Teachers' Pension Plan, before reaching age sixty (60), subject to the following conditions: The teacher must:

  • Seasonal Career Employment ‌ Leave without pay may be granted to seasonal career employees during their off- season.

  • Disabled Employees' Preference Any employee covered by this Agreement who has given good and faithful service to the Employer and who, through advancing years or temporary disablement is unable to perform their regular duties, may be given the preference of any light work available at the salary payable at the time for the assigned position.

  • Rehires An employee returning to service with the County after a break in service into a classification in which he / she has previously passed probation shall serve a new 6-month probationary period from the date of re-hire.

  • Employment Option If the State determines that it would be in the State’s best interest to hire an employee of the Contractor, the Contractor will release the selected employee from any non-competition agreements that may be in effect. This release will be at no cost to the State or the employee.

  • Cyclic Year Employment The Employer may fill a position with a cyclic year appointment for positions scheduled to work less than twelve (12) full months each year, due to known, recurring periods in the annual cycle when the position is not needed. At least fifteen (15) days before the start of each annual cycle, incumbents of cyclic year positions will be informed, in writing, of their scheduled periods of leave without pay in the ensuing cycle. Such periods of leave without pay will not constitute a break in service. When additional work is required of a cyclic position during a period for which the position was scheduled for leave without pay, the temporary work will be offered to the incumbent. The incumbent will be allowed at least three (3) working days in which to accept or decline the offer. Should the incumbent decline the work, it will be offered to other cyclic employees, in the same classification, with the necessary skills and abilities, in order of seniority, before being filled by other means.

  • Career Ladder Effective July 1, 2014, TALC and the District agreed to the 11 implementation of a Career Ladder for the advancement of instructional staff on the 12 Performance Salary Schedule. Elements of the Career Ladder are outlined and posted on 13 the District website and include detailed descriptions of Career Ladder levels and the 14 requirements for movement. All instructional staff hired on or after January 8, 2018 will 15 be placed on the Apprentice level of the Career Ladder.
