Care and Supervision. Care and supervision of the ESA is the responsibility of the student approved to have the ESA. The student must commit to providing proper care of the ESA, which includes, feeding, fresh water, exercise, rest and opportunities to relieve itself in a manner that does not damage University property. The student is required to maintain control of the ESA at all times. The ESA must be on a leash, harness, or other tether when in public places. The student is also responsible for maintaining a clean living environment for the ESA, ensuring the cleanup of the ESA’s waste and, must toilet the ESA in areas designated by the University for this purpose. If at any point, the student cannot care for the ESA, as in the case of illness or hospitalization, an emergency contact must be on file with the DRC and Residence Life so the ESA can be released to the care of a responsible designated party. Students may not allow an ESA to be neglected or abused. If any neglect is suspected, Residence Life will contact the student, University Police, and the Humane Society. In some circumstances, Residence Life may allow an animal control officer or humane society representative to enter the room/apartment and remove the ESA if, in its judgment, the ESA has been abandoned, left in the room/apartment for an extended period of time without food or water, is sick or neglected. Students may not leave an ESA unattended in a room or apartment overnight without appropriate food, water, shelter and the means to relieve itself, or for an extended period of time beyond normal working/class hours. Should this occur, Residence Life will attempt to contact the student or emergency contact to remove the ESA. If this is not successful, local animal control will be contacted to have the ESA removed. All costs associated with removing the ESA shall be the responsibility of the student. No offspring of the ESA are permitted. An ESA must be crated or otherwise secured when left alone.

CONTRACTOR shall provide adequate and highly competent, caring, and compassionate staff 24/7 in order to help prevent crisis situations or other disruptions in Client’s lives that could lead to acute hospitalization or loss of housing. The CONTRACTOR’S goal is to keep Clients on track toward mental and physical health improvement. CONTRACTOR’S night supervisory staff shall be awake in compliance to CCR, Title 22, section 85065.6(d).

The College requires parents/guardians to inform the College if they are away from the family home for more than one week and communicate to the College the care arrangements for their daughter during this time. Please note that Homestay is not permitted for International Students during the school term.
