Canine Handler Sample Clauses

The Canine Handler clause defines the responsibilities and qualifications required for individuals who handle dogs in the course of performing services under the agreement. Canine Handler. 67.1 Portland Police Bureau Dog Handlers who have a police canine kenneled at their residence, shall be paid one hour pay at the time-and-one-half (1½) rate per day for each regular day off they perform “kennel time” for their dog. “Kennel time” includes but is not limited to exercising the dog, grooming the dog, and cleaning up the dog run and similar duties. 67.2 On a regular work day, Portland Police Bureau Dog Handlers shall be paid one-half (½) hour at the time- and-one-half rate per day for performing “kennel time” duties over and above the regular shift, if the Dog Handler cannot perform the “kennel time” during the regular shift. 67.3 Portland Police Bureau Dog Handlers shall be paid one-half (½) hour at the time-and-one-half rate per day they perform “kennel time” duties while on vacation. The vacation compensation will apply to full or partial shifts of vacation leave. 67.4 Portland Police Bureau Dog Handlers shall receive one-half (½) hour per day compensation if they perform “kennel time” duties while on in the following pay status: a) Jury Duty if the Dog Handler cannot perform the kennel time during the regular shift.
Canine Handler. An Employee assigned to the care, training and department authorized use of an Employer-owned service dog.
Canine Handler. Canine Handlers shall be assigned for the useful life of a service dog unless otherwise assigned by the Employer. The useful life of a service dog shall be determined at the discretion of the Employer.
Canine Handler. 43.1 The Department Canine(s) shall be the property of The State of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Public Safety and will be licensed in accordance with all applicable laws. The University will provide all food, equipment (including toys), insurance, licensing, and veterinary services for the canine until termination of the program or until retirement of the canine. The University reserves the right to terminate the program at any time. 43.2 If permissible, upon retirement of the canine, the canine handler may have the opportunity to assume ownership of the canine per an agreement with the State of Ohio. If the Canine Program is terminated by the State of Ohio or The University of Toledo, the canine and all canine assets shall be provided to the Ohio Department of Public Safety. 43.3 The canine handler will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the assigned canine (feeding, grooming, bathing, etc.). The canine shall live with the handler at his/her residence and may be confined for short periods of time while on the employee's property. 43.4 In order to take vacation time off, the canine handler will be permitted the same number of "dog-free-days" per year equivalent to the number of vacation days he/she accrues per the contract in one year. The University of Toledo will be responsible for the cost of kenneling the canine during this period(s) of time. 43.5 The University will cover the cost of one (1) home floor cleaning per year, upon request of the canine handler, up to $500 per year. 43.6 The University will provide a uniform necessary for the requirements of the job for the canine handler. In addition to all other uniform related provisions made elsewhere in the CBA, the canine handler will also be issued all uniform and equipment items required for the assignment that are not part of the regular-duty issue. 43.7 The Canine handler will be scheduled on the 4 and 2 rotating days off schedule in accordance with Article 14.1
Canine Handler. Employees assigned by the Sheriff to the position of Canine Handler shall receive an additional 5% of incentive pay to their base monthly salary per month, in lieu of overtime for the off duty care, feeding and training of the dog.
Canine Handler. Effective May 1, 2014 a Deputy Canine Handler will receive a monthly stipend of $250. This position shall be an assignment by the Sheriff and will adhere to the Hood River County Sheriff’s office Canine Unit Policy.
