Canada Day Boxing Day. Civic Holiday If any of the public holidays listed above fall on a Sunday, the Monday following shall be observed and where Monday is also a holiday, the Tuesday will be observed in lieu of Monday. If Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day, fall on a Saturday, the Friday preceding shall be observed and where Friday is also a holiday, will be observed in lieu of Friday. In addition to the Public Holidays listed above, employees on the payroll as of April 1st each year shall be granted two (2) Individual Holidays to be taken at a time to be agreed upon the Company and the employee, but not later than end of the fiscal year (the last Friday in March). Except by permission of the Plant Manager, an Individual Holiday shall not be granted during the period June 15th Should the plant be by law to observe any holiday other than those listed above, such holiday shall replace one of the Individual Holidays. in the absence of such requirement, Heritage Day is commonly observed as a holiday by major customers, then the plant shall observe Heritage Day as a holiday in place of one of the Individual Holidays, Xxx-xxxxx in Holiday An employee, if laid off or recalled in the pay weeks in which the public holidays fall, receive hours’ pay at regular rates for such holiday, provided receives pay for hours worked in such week. Payment will also be made in respect to such holidays which observed on Monday to employees laid off on the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday preceding. Similarly, payment will be made in respect to Saturday holidays to employees laid off on the immediately preceding. To for this holiday pay, employees must out their lay-off notice or report for work on when required, as the case may be. Sick Pay and Compensation in Weeks. The Company to pay to an employee who would otherwise qualify for holiday pay under above but who is sick pay or Workers’ Compensation, the between sick pay or Workers’ Compensation, as the case may be, and eight hours’ pay at regular rate, as long as continues to receive sick pay or, if on compensation, for such period as employee would have been to receive sick pay had been sick Should the public holiday be observed on a non-scheduled day, the Company pay the employees eligible for either of the above payments, hours’ pay at their regular rates.
Canada Day Boxing Day. Any of the above statutory holidays falling on a Saturday or Sunday shall be recognized on the next regular business day. Three additional holidays are granted and the employee and the Company may mutually agree in writing that the said holiday may be celebrated on any normal working day during the calendar year. In the event “Heritage Day” is proclaimed by the Federal Government, “Heritage Day” will replace one of the above floating holidays and be celebrated as proclaimed.
