Calendar Negotiations. The parties agree to negotiate all calendars during the negotiation process. The parties agree that on or about October 1 but before December 1 of the final year of the agreement, they will commence negotiations regarding the school calendars for the subsequent school year. The parties also agree that the tentatively agreed upon calendars resulting from these negotiations are to be ready for presentation and recommended adoption to the School Board and SEA membership by no later than January 31. In 2019-2020, SEA and SPS agree to establish a joint workgroup to address equity and inclusive considerations related to religious and cultural observations and practices in developing student and work calendars. Recommendations on the student and work calendars are due by January 31, 2020.
