CALENDAR AND HOURS. For classified employees the standard work week shall not exceed forty (40) hours. Maintenance Technician, Building Service Aide, Warehouse/Supply Clerk, Shipping/Receiving Clerk, and Safety Officer personnel shall work an eight (8) hour day. All other classified personnel under the Clerical/Secretarial Salary Schedules, Instructional Assistants and the I.T. Technicians under the Classified Salary Schedules shall work a seven (7) hour day. Time, work and lunch schedules shall be fixed and adjusted by the administrator in charge and approved by the superintendent or his/her designated representative. Meals do not count as hours worked unless required to work. Unpaid lunch time shall not exceed one (1) hour. Any assigned duties beyond the forty (40) hour work week will be compensated for at one and one-half times the hours actually worked. Employees may choose to be paid for extra work or receive compensatory time. Hours for which an employee is compensated for sick leave, but during which he does not actually work, shall not be computed as “worked hours” for the purpose of determining compensatory time.

When such Schedule Pickup Night, parent-teacher conference(s) and sophomore open house extend beyond the regular teacher work day, compensatory release time shall be granted by the Board during a regularly scheduled school day, customarily the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. When a teacher is requested by their supervisor to attend a professional meeting or to accompany a student(s) to a CTSO competition on a non-contract day, he/she shall be compensated at his/her per diem rate in addition to the usual and customary mileage and meal reimbursement. The post-secondary teachers who are required by their supervisors to be present for scheduled graduation ceremonies, job placement activities, and preceptorship that extend beyond the regular work day shall be granted compensatory release time during the regularly scheduled work day. If a teacher is requested by an administrator to use his/her planning time to substitute for another teacher, such teacher shall be paid $32. CALENDAR AND HOURS. A. Teachers shall arrive at school at least twenty-five (25) minutes before 23 classes begin and stay at school twenty-five (25) minutes after school is 24 dismissed. Each school unit shall have the privilege of altering this 25 schedule upon approval of the superintendent so long as the total time 26 remains the same. On Fridays and the day preceding school vacation, all 27 teachers may leave when school buses have vacated the school premises. 28 Special arrangements to leave early may be made with the building 29 principal. No teacher shall be required to be in attendance in his/her 30 school more than eight (8) hours per day.   • Extra Hours (i) (a) Any additional hours beyond base hours shall be offered in a fair and impartial manner among "A" list part-time employees in the classification and in the geographical location in which the additional hours are required. Each zone and bureau and One Yonge Street shall be considered separate geographical locations. A part-time employee who is scheduled to work additional hours beyond the base hours (under the terms of Article 7) and who does not work those hours due to sickness shall be paid for such hours under the application of the sick leave provisions under Article 13 and Clause (2405).

  • OVERTIME AND HOLIDAYS 5.1 An Employer may require employees to perform work in excess of their regularly assigned hours. All time worked by an employee before and after his regular shift on Monday to Friday inclusive, except as provided in Article 4 and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of double time.
