CALAMITY DAYS. 1. All employees shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or part of a day when the school system is closed owing to an epidemic or other public calamity as declared by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

CALAMITY DAYS. ‌ A calamity day shall be defined as an instructional day when the closing of school is deemed necessary as a result of disease, epidemic, hazardous weather conditions, law enforcement emergencies, inoperability of school buses or other equipment needed to operate the school system, damage to a school building or other property, or other temporary circumstance that renders the school facility unfit for instructional use. Teachers will not be required to report to work on days when the district has cancelled classes for students.
CALAMITY DAYS. 19.01 The Superintendent, in consultation with the appropriate administrators, will establish work schedules for the support staff. Work schedules may be changed as required to meet the needs of the District.
CALAMITY DAYS. 24.01 Employees shall be paid their regular rate of pay for any day(s) or parts of days when schools in which they are employed are closed due to a calamity being declared by the Superintendent up to five (5) days.
CALAMITY DAYS. A. A calamity day shall be defined as a day when the Board determined it was necessary to close a school or all of the schools in the District for a reason beyond their control.
CALAMITY DAYS. When schools are closed by the Superintendent due to a calamity, custodial members of the Bargaining Unit Members may be required to report for duty as required in this section or directed by their immediate supervisor. For the purposes of this section, the duration of the Calamity Declaration shall be 24 hours unless activities are scheduled for that evening. Any employee(s) required to work shall be paid for the first two hours at one and one-half times the regular rate of pay. Hours in addition to the first two shall be paid at straight time. An early dismissal that does not reduce the time in school below the requirements for the minimum school day will not be considered to constitute a calamity. Bargaining Unit Members will be paid for calamity days. However, if the number of calamity days exceed five, Bargaining Unit Members who are scheduled to work less than 260 days will be required to work make up days at no additional pay. If an employee does not work on the makeup day, his/her pay will be docked for the calamity pay that was previously received for any such days unless a member has unused personal days, the member may elect to use their personal leave in lieu of working the regular contracted hours. In order to utilize personal leave on a calamity day, the employee must notify their immediate supervisor/administrator of the leave by 10:00am and put the leave in writing within 24 hours of the calamity day is called. On any date when a calamity day is ultimately declared by the Superintendent, Building Managers and custodians shall be required to report to work for four hours, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee, and then may leave for the day. When there are activities scheduled in the High School on the evening of a day which has been designated as a calamity day, the regular, second shift custodian(s) at the High School will be expected to report as usual and such work will not be considered as calamity day work. On any calamity day beyond the first five, all two-hundred and sixty (260)-day Bargaining Unit Members must report to work and work their regularly contracted hours at regular rate. If a calamity is due to a disaster, all two-hundred and sixty (260)-day Bargaining Unit Members must work regularly contracted hours.
CALAMITY DAYS. All monitors shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or part of a day when schools in which they are employed are closed owing to an epidemic or other public calamity. If required to report to work, a monitor shall report for and perform work. Work shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half (1.5). Calamity Days shall be counted as days worked.

CALAMITY DAYS. 12.01 A calamity day is defined as a scheduled school day in the school calendar during which all classes in the school district are canceled due to weather or other emergency conditions and such day is waived for make-up.
CALAMITY DAYS. 2.1 In the event the superintendent of schools closes the schools, those employees who, by virtue of their jobs, are required to perform duties on those days, shall be paid for the hours worked. Pay shall be at full rate and be in addition to the regular salary, or compensatory time off in equal amount shall be granted. Employees not required to work shall receive their regular salary.

In the event that, due to weather conditions or for some other reason, a particular program (e.g. the adult education program, the secondary education program) is closed, employees assigned to that program which is closed shall not be required to report to work. All other employees, unless notified by radio announcement or telephone not to report to work, shall be required to report to work, except that employees assigned to satellite locations shall be subject to the school closings/calamity day provisions of the satellite location’s school district. Twelve month employees covered by this Agreement (i.e. custodians and secretaries) shall be required to report to work, unless notified not to do so. Twelve-month secretaries shall not be required to report to work on calamity days if non-union twelve- month secretaries are not required to report.
