Business Leave. Each teacher shall be allowed five (5) days per year non-accumulative, deducted from sick leave allowance, for employee absence due to emergency, business, professional, household, or personal matters that cannot be attended to outside of working hours. Prior approval must be given by the administration with the exception of emergencies. The use of business leave will be allowed immediately preceding or following a school holiday, provided a substitute is available. In no instance shall more than two (2) teachers from Xxxx Xxxxx Middle School, two (2) teachers from College Place High School, and four (4) teachers from Xxxxx Elementary School be allowed business leave on the same day.

Business Leave. An employee may be granted a leave of absence without compensation for personal reasons for a period of one year provided it does not in any way injure the program of the school. Scheduled increments, adjustments in salary, and retirement credit are not allowed for such leave. The conditions under which a person may return from a leave of personal business shall be determined by the Board at the time of approval of request for leave upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.
Business Leave. 1. One (1) of the accumulated sick leave days may be used annually for business leave for business that cannot be conducted at any time other than during working hours. Business leave days are to be used only to conduct true and pressing business that cannot be conducted on days or hours other than that of the working schedule. Applications for the use of a business leave day must be submitted to the Human Resources Office not less than three (3) work days prior to the date of the leave. This request must state the reason and receive the approval of the employee’s supervisor and the final approval of the Human Resources Department. Business leave days may not be taken immediately prior to or subsequent to paid holidays or vacation periods except in emergencies.
Business Leave. The LEA will annually receive four (4) teacher contract days to be divided among its members as professional leave to conduct LEA determined business. Ten working days advance notice will be given to the administrators for subsequent approval by district level administration. It is the intent of this provision to grant the day(s) of leave at the time requested; however, should it be an inopportune time, an alternate day(s) may be required. The LEA shall reimburse the district at the current board approved substitute rate and the absence will not be charged personally to the teacher(s) using the day(s).

Business Leave. ‌ Each full-time employee may use five (5) days, no more than three (3) days consecutively, of leave each year for emergencies or other urgent and compelling business that cannot be conducted during non-school hours or days. These business days will be deducted from sick leave. However, such deduction is not intended to deprive the employee of the minimum number of sick days as provided in the school code. Written requests for such use may be approved in advance by the Superintendent or designee, except in cases of emergency. If more than three (3) days are needed consecutively, the employee will make a written request to both the Superintendent or designee and the SEEO President for review. Business leave shall not be granted on days immediately preceding or following holidays/school breaks, specific or unique work days (as defined in Paragraph B of this article). Emergencies or special circumstances that occur on these days requiring an absence from work must be documented and approved by the Superintendent or designee. Days not approved will be deducted from the employee’s salary. Unused business days will not accumulate as business days. All unused business days will accumulate as sick days.

Approval must come from the Superintendent. Such absence will not be deducted from an employee's sick leave. If additional time is needed, the employee must secure the Superintendent's approval. If such a request is granted, the employee may be given up to five (5) additional days to be taken from the employee's sick leave. For the purpose of this provision, immediate family includes: parents, spouse, civil union partner and/or domestic partner, children, brothers, sisters, grandparents, great‐grandparents, grandchildren, great‐grandchildren, parents‐ in‐law, brothers‐in‐law, sisters‐in‐law, legal guardians, step‐ children, step‐siblings, grandparents‐in‐law, step‐parents, daughters‐in‐law, sons‐in‐law, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces or nephews. Business Leave. All administrative employees are eligible to receive two (2) business leave days per year. An Administrator desiring such a leave must obtain approval to be absent in advance from his/her supervisor. The second business day may be used for business transactions only and may not be used on a workday immediately proceeding or following a holiday, vacation period or during parent/teacher conferences.
