Common use of Bumping Rights Clause in Contracts

Bumping Rights. An employee designated to be laid off may bump into a class at the same salary level for which he or she meets the minimum qualifications, or into the next lower classification in which such employee has previously held regular status. An employee who is bumped shall be laid off in the same manner as an employee whose position is abolished.
