The Board Attorney represents the Board of Education in its capacity as the governing body for the School District. The Board Attorney serves on a retainer or other fee arrangement as determined in advance. The Board Attorney will provide services as described in the agreement for legal services or as memorialized by an engagement letter. The District will only pay for legal services that are provided in accordance with the agreement for legal services, as memorialized by an engagement letter, or that are otherwise authorized by this policy or a majority of the Board. The Superintendent, his or her designee, and Board President, are each authorized to confer with and/or seek the legal advice of the Board Attorney. The Board may also authorize a specific Board member to confer with the Board Attorney on its behalf. The Superintendent may authorize the Board Attorney to represent the District in any legal matter until the Board has an opportunity to be informed of and/or consider the matter. The Board retains the right to consult with or employ other attorneys and to terminate the service of any attorney. Budget and Finance Committee. The Budget and Finance Committee shall be composed only of Directors but shall be an advisory committee. It shall be responsible for overseeing corporate financial management functions, including the budget, investment and debt policies and transactions, and recommending to the Board of Directors changes in financial management policies. The Budget and Finance Committee shall not have authority to exercise any powers on behalf of the Board of Directors.

  • Joint Job Evaluation Committee The parties entered into agreement December 17, 1992, to ensure the Joint Gender- Neutral Job Evaluation Plan remains current and operational and to that end endorsed the Joint Gender-Neutral Job Evaluation Maintenance Agreement.   • Health & Safety Committee The Employer agrees to establish a Health & Safety Committee for all employees of the company under the auspices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Committee shall be made up of an equal number (not less than one each) of non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit persons who have completed their probationary period. The Union has the right to appoint the members representing the bargaining unit. The Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings and post them in the shop.   • Health Insurance Committee The UFF-USF-GAU President will appoint one (1) employee to serve on the University's Student Health Insurance Committee.

  • Joint Insurance Committee The Committee shall be referred to as the Joint Insurance Committee (Academic Employees).

  • Insurance Committee An Insurance Committee comprised of three (3) representatives selected by the Superintendent and three (3) representatives selected by Okeechobee County Education Association #1604 shall be established to review and make recommendations regarding the health insurance program. The Committee shall meet at least quarterly and may meet more frequently as needed. Notwithstanding the above, any anticipated changes to the hospitalization and health insurance program which would result in a program less than equivalent to the existing program shall be subject to negotiations.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • Staffing Committee A. Responsibilities. The Nurse Staffing Committee (“NSC”) shall be responsible for determining the Institute’s staffing plan and resolving complaints raised by nurses regarding the implementation of the plan as well as those activities required of it under RCW 70.41, et seq and its successors.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.

  • Education Committee (a) The Employer will establish an Education Committee for all employees in the facility, which shall include at least one representative from ONA members.

  • Local Safety Committee There shall be established in each department and/or principal place of employment (for example: institutions, hospitals, colleges, transportation department areas, Department of Natural Resources regions, etc.) a joint Safety Committee composed of Appointing Authority representatives selected by the Appointing Authority and employee representatives selected by the Union, one from each bargaining unit represented by the Union but at a minimum, a total of two (2) representatives. If more than one (1) exclusive representative exists in the department or principal place of employment, the Union will attempt to work out an arrangement with the other exclusive bargaining representative(s) to insure their input to the Committee. The chair of the Committee shall be appointed by the Appointing Authority. The Appointing Authority may consider having co-chairs, one management and one labor. The Safety Committee shall meet at least quarterly or as may be legally required and meetings shall be scheduled by the Safety Officer. Additional meetings may be called by the Safety Officer or by the Local Union or Appointing Authority as the need may arise. All Safety Committee meetings shall be held during normal day shift working hours on the Appointing Authority's premises and without loss of pay. The function of the Safety Committee will be to review reports of property damage and personal injury accidents and alleged hazardous working conditions, to provide support for a strong safety program, to review building security issues, and to review and recommend safety policies to the Appointing Authority. Normally, the Committee shall acknowledge in writing receipt of reports of alleged hazardous working conditions within thirty (30) calendar days of their submission. A copy of the Committee's recommendations, if any, to the Appointing Authority regarding the disposition of such reports shall also be provided to the individual who filed the report with the Committee. In addition, the Safety Committee will provide the filing party with a copy of the Appointing Authority's response and/or proposed actions, if any. At the request of the Local Union or Safety Committee, hazard assessments will be made available for review. Each Local Safety Committee in a facility with a laundry and/or a kitchen shall perform a routine heat survey to check temperature, humidity, and exhaust and fan systems in the laundries and kitchens. The Employer agrees to coordinate technical assistance to the Local Safety Committee upon request.
